All kinds of chestnuts
Madeleine appears in her matte white bottle like an airy, light summer scent. Until you open the bottle and the first spray on the skin gives. The aromas that come towards you are indescribable and for me absolutely new in this intensity in a perfume. First of all, hot chestnuts come to mind. The roasted aromas when peeling and the bite into the crumbly nutty-sweet interior are quite similar to the first fragrance pleasure. Then the scent becomes creamy rich, like rich chestnut cream with vanilla and cream. The sweetness that accompanies this deliciousness could come from tart chestnut honey, dark brown, oozing, but without sticky sweetness - an aroma for connoisseurs. The aroma ends with the memory of crunchy hazelnut cookies and some nut cream.

This fragrance is gourmand through and through - but an unsweet gourmand, full of natural-looking nut aromas. Softened with some vanilla and cream. Flowers I can not detect at any time.

With 3 - 4 sprays you have a nice silage the after 3 hours but already becomes quite skin. After 6 hours, it is consumed on my skin, on clothes one takes him a little longer, albeit discreetly, wahr.
Only the bottle should be instead of white, caramel-colored with maroon cap - but you can not have them all.
Who wants to expand his fragrance collection with a rarely found gourmandaroma - this one is wonderful!

Beautiful gourmand - nutty, sweet, bready
Masque Milano Madeleine is a 2020 release that I just had the pleasure of smelling for the first time last week with Nir Guy at Perfumology, which carries the full Masque line. The name of the perfume conjures the cake of the same name, and I believe is the perfume’s inspiration, as almond features significantly in both. The perfume does have a baked goods quality to it along the lines of Hilde Soliani Buonissimo, but instead of smelling like buttery, cocoa-dusted croissants, Madeleine has a prominent nutty quality of almond, chestnut, and coffee in concert with a cookie/cake vibe, without the lemon of the inspiration and without the cocoa of Buonissimo. It’s slightly sharp (probably due to the combination of almond and tonka) but in general sweeter and breadier with light spicy touches.

Madeleine is dense, rich, delicious, and a very satisfying nod to gourmand lovers like me, and is different enough from other perfumes I’ve tried to be worth looking into and (if you’re as much as a fan of it as I am) buying a bottle. Overall, I’m quite smitten with this.

Madeleine is sold at Perfumology and other boutiques like Indigo Perfumery and Luckyscent and is priced at $160 for 35ml, on par with most of the line.

Cozy roasted chestnut gourmand
This is one of my favorites for curling up at home, and it's perfect tonight while heavy rain, thunder and lightning rage outside.
It's a unique gourmand, not particularly sweet.
Roasted chestnuts, milky vanilla and tonka with a buttery phase, then midway a delicate tuberose enters the mix. Eventually dries down to a most impeccable amber. Longevity is superb, sillage is rather close. Wearing to bed, I know I'll wake up still able to smell it.
The scent of roasted chestnuts is very nostalgic, reminds me of winter in NYC with my grandfather.
I'm halfway through my travel sized bottle already, kicking myself for not getting full size.
It's a literal bittersweet fragrance.

Chestnuts with cream
Madeleine came to me as a bottling. The fragrance started with somehow "creamy" chestnut - it smells first of chestnuts.... autumnal and I have the feeling I eat spray cream from a spoon. Very unusual, nice. After a good 5 minutes it becomes more "nutty", not so intensely marony. Definitely gourmand, but not super sweet. Also somehow slightly spicy.

After 20 minutes, it changes again. I smell something sweet "behind" the nutty.... After my teeth pull very slightly, I suspect here the rose geranium as the "culprit" (I know this from her) - floral is the heart note for me but not at all.

The initial smell somehow seems very familiar to me. I know him. I remember being homey wrapped up, chestnuts, yellow leaves, autumn in the country. This sweetness in the background bothers me, unfortunately. Others here write of honey smell, that happens on my skin - unfortunately - not.

After 2 hours Madeleine is a bit too much for me with a spray. It does not change much, and I have a slight nausea from it. Too bad, because I like fragrances that are different.

A modern gourmand
Medeleine is made in the absolute tradition of the modern gourmand genre - it contains a lot of the most delicious things: caramel, cream, praline, nuts, vanilla. Do you want more? Then, there is also added a prominent honey-floral nuance, which is the main accord in their newest fragrance called Ray-Flection.

If you are familiar with Trastevere by Pantheon Roma, for me Madeleine is Trastevere minus chocolate and plus Ray-Flection's floral honey. And this comparison is not a criticism at all, I do like the perfume - it is beautiful, optimistic and perfect for winter holidays.

They don’t really smell alike, but this and Blanche Bete are both kind of “fluffy white sweet scents with an edge”-I love them both
