oriental wind
This very warm wind comes almost every evening over the desert into the city.
Before he dives into the narrow streets of the old town, he makes a detour and visits the old market of spices. Curious, he looks into various sacks of spices that have been delivered by many caravans. What there is so everything!
He plays a bit with spicy pimento seeds, lets them rattle softly; crushes the already dried origano and nestles for a moment to the fragrant peels of bergamots.
A heap of cedar leaves, blown together in a corner, he lets rustle softly before passing through it boisterously once more and then making his way further into the winding city.
In warm gusts he makes wide robes flutter, tries to make hats fly, and engages in all sorts of other mischief.
Our wind loves to entertain in the evening streets, when people at last leave their shady homes and set out for their engagements; chattering and cheerful in mood.
Pregnant with fragrant aromas, he leaves behind a spicy blend of scents that have clung to him since his visit to the market, as compensation for his pranks.
This warm spiced air drifts up to the flat roof where we will be spending this evening.
Our host has invited us to dinner; the exquisite variety of delicious dishes have already been set out before us, and we settle in on soft cushions under the vast dark blue velvet sky as the stars rise above us.
The heavy fragrance of the deep purple blossoms of heliotrope, standing in large tubs on the roof, envelops us in warm seductive vanilla sweetness.
What enchanting smells are thus created with the spice that the warm wind blows on the roof.
To celebrate our visit, various finely crafted fire bowls were set up, filled with a selection of the finest resins.
The flames within are already extinguished, the chunks of resin well warmed through, and so balmy smoke soon drifts through the young night.
Different varieties of gentle and stronger incense, the unmistakable aroma of labdanum, extracted from the ever-so-slightly wrinkled cistus, and opoponax, the resin consecrated to the goddess Venus, unite with the mystery of noble amber.
Sated and still nibbling on a dessert of chestnut flour and fragrant sweet dates, we drift through the beauty of this fairy-tale night on pleasurable fragrances in an atmosphere loosened by good food and pleasant conversation.
Here you will find lived Orient par excellence!
I found this extraordinary fragrance experience through a sample that Gelis left me, although she herself is very enthusiastic about it. To her selfless generosity I pay thanks.
This magical creature "Amyas Marakesh", a creature of "Massimiliano Torti - Il Profumiere" from Ferrara, is unfortunately not available in ordinary online stores.
One must contact the company directly; a hyperlink to the e mail address is switched.
But that's the way it's called for now:
Carefully handle a precious treasure of fragrances that resounds like a gentle ballad and envelops so unforgettably!
For this is the journey into the 1,002nd night!
