The Gourmand-Zistrosen Venture
Cocoa, immediately, AugustA the cocoa stiebt and dust around the nose. It starts immediately very full-bodied, almost I would have said full-bosomed. This Patchouli - and that it is a Patchouli fragrance is no doubt from the second moment on - this Patchouli is soft and warm, you may lean your head on it with a comforting moan, lie down inside. And AugustA only thinks - so, so, no gourmand, ... ha ha ha. Next thing you know, pudding and liqueur. But, there is still a juicy fruity note pushing through the delicious earthy chocolate splendour. First my nose thinks, in this environment it should be a raisin or other dried fruit, but no, these softcakes with a layer of gelled oranges and chocolate coating will appear more citric to inevitable before my inner eye. And again it whispers: Who else thought this wasn't a gourmand? Someone is now adding an overflowing bouquet of flowers. Roses? Jasmine? Elderflower? Are they orange blossoms that get along so well with the soft biscuit? AugustA notices a long look in the eye and the "I like but no gourmands! forehead wrinkle vertical" smoothes out. Such a bouquet of flowers - and now the weighting is somehow reversed - there is now a small steaming cup of hot cocoa next to a bouquet in soft bright colours, the bouquet fresh and lush, the cocoa smells next to it. - Yes, yes, the Italians love it all the time, singing dessert, singing flowers, singing porch, the anti-choco-scented devil hisses on AugustA's shoulder. AugustA: Don't talk tin! You didn't come up with anything platter than that! - and when he doesn't want to rest, she slaps his nose. From now on, it's quiet, because the nose is sensitive. (I won't let a man like that pin me down...)

Meanwhile the fragrance begins to steam and pulsate pleasantly, this full-bodiedness is a pleasure, you almost feel comfortable in your skin, which smells better from minute to minute. Because this fragrance reaches every pore, ladies...! (and gentlemen of course). The range to the flowery freshness results as if by itself and it does not become to my joy at all really sweet, thus not sticky or sugary, rather slightly powdery and dry and all this together fresh, but not too clean. Clearly a bit buxom in the beginning, but lively, tasty and kind that it is a joy.
A slight hint of vanilla draws in and I leave it to him. He fits and brings something cheerful. Vanilla is mostly a duty for the seductive lady (ähem), but always also for a childlike light-heartedness and self-evidence that makes you smile. If not, sweet Brabs can stay away from me.

And now, after about an hour or more, another train comes into the fragrance, which could actually animate me to a lively conversation with the fragrance, the bouquet or the person who brought it. A light camphor note? Another fresh soft blossom? Velvety, light-reflecting. What, there's no flowers at all? It was all an optical-nasal illusion? Oh ---Labdanum. Cistus. That's why I wanted to test the scent in the first place. How could I forget that over the patch cocoa cloud!
Labdanum is a little floral, very resinous, spicy, shines at the same time brightly ethereal and smells at the same time woody dry. At least on the bush that sweats out the resin. If you pick a branch or a few flowers of this small rose-like bush, you still have long sticky and fragrant hands. For me it also contains light somehow, maybe it is the glistening Mediterranean sun that is reflected in the resin! These are the rays of light that intensify and penetrate the balsamic-powdery sweetness of the fragrance, lift the fragrance away from a pure "Oh, what are you so delicious" or cuddly fragrance. A lively conversation, flashing eyes and above all air and light do the whole scenery visibly good.

The honey-like spiciness, which is also known from the Mazzolari patchouli, can also be recognized in "Lei". A winter evening with freshly scented earth. But also the perception of the brightness and unconditionality of the cistus rose of ELDO (Attaquer Le Soleil / Marquis de Sade) is not completely absurd, if you try to imagine the fragrance without the cocoa powder and the gentle warmth, to look behind it with your inner nose. Because there's a double bottom. Daring. It is. Devil: What, this chocolate dessert...?! - AugustA: Quiet now! - If you pay him enough attention.

Vetiver slimens the fragrance a little, which does most classic women's fragrances good and completes the overall picture with cool clear elegance. Vetiver for me is always: clarity in thinking and feeling. Reaches from beneath the earth to the sky. The combination with patchouli and sweet or, as here, more associative sweet scents such as dry cocoa and soft but equally dry vanilla needs to be skillful.
Resumee: Twist, soft and round. Tender-tart, yummy. Pleasantly, not without ulterior motives and with a calm self-confident depth. With YOU you can spend a few hours or an evening and a night. Or a whole week. Or... Men and women. Best all together.

This fragrance makes you satisfied, but not sluggish. In return he gets a big plus from me, because that is perhaps his noblest, best quality.

Rich and chocolatey
Mazzolari Lei is incredibly beautiful and I'm so glad I've found it. This is one niche house worth discovering.

This fragrance strikes me as being a cross between Guerlain's Shalimar and Thierry Mugler's Angel. It's quite heavy with the patchouli and the labdanum, however there's a beautiful hint of chocolate and powdered vanilla that makes it all the more appealing.

It's beautifully feminine and luscious on the skin. Its coziness makes it wearable in cold, harsh weather and sensual enough to seduce and mesmerize any man.

Mazzolari Lei is one of the prettiest orientals I've ever come across. The blend is almost perfection, an interesting clash between being gourmand and an oriental vanilla. I see it as being a little animalistic at times too.

There's many things to like about Mazzolari Lei, particularly that of the impressive longevity. Perhaps because I love patchouli so much, this fragrance works for me. However, patchouli haters may not love this fragrance so much.
