A rose scent I should have skipped
In truth this is not entirely rose as the name suggests. It's actually quite aquatic and juicy. There are also times when it smells a little alcoholic and not properly blended.
The first spray is almost unbearable. There's been many a time, on a Saturday night that I've gone to do a tequila shot and missed my mouth altogether, resulting in a wet patch reeking of strong spirits down the front of my expensive dress. Rose Petals' opening somehow smelt just like spilt tequila, sharp and nauseating.
Thankfully the scent settles, but not so much that the alcoholic accord ever disappears. The peach note is strong, and well, peachy, fighting for dominance alongside the tarty and rich red rose accord. A sea water accord stuffs up this composition even more adding a saltiness that was never really needed.
Unfortunately this fragrance became a scrubber less than an hour into its first wearing. Not only was the scent hard to stomach, but the way it projected on my skin gave me a terrible headache. It just had to go.
Rose Petals perhaps should have kept it simple. Sometimes peach does work well with rose, but in this particular case it ruins it. This is not worth testing, in my humble opinion.
