Sharp, synthetic tropical fruit + fades fast
I love tropical fruity blends - Escada's OG tropical summer releases continue to be some of my favorite fragrances - but Montale Pretty Fruity left a lot to be desired.
The opening has a blast of something sharp and chemical in nature - almost like the chemical used in a perm or a "box hair dye" used at home.
Then it moves into the bulk of the fragrance: an indistinct, somewhat-synthetic tropical fruity blend. I've tried many of Escada's OG tropical summer releases, and this does feel a bit similar - the closest one I can think of is Pacific Paradise , but it's nowhere near a dupe.
Unfortunately, it's not as memorable or distinctive as any of them; it felt more like if you mixed a bunch of them together, resulting in too many notes to be able to tell what's what.
Dry down came quickly, with the tropical fruity notes disappearing after only a few minutes and leaving behind a single aquatic note (something like a watery melon), with a little bit of powder.
I feel like some BBW mists had more realistic fruit blends, and better longevity, than this.
