A floral leather, suitable for spring - not something you see very often...
Personally, when I smell this perfume I actually feel that I get the concept of the perfumer Euan McCall - based on the Neanderthals that lived in Asia and Europe until about 25.000 years ago and were smaller yet stronger than modern humans, before the latter probably outranked them. If I close my eyes, I can actually imagine sitting in a cave, dressed in deer hides (leather) while the bonfire (woods and incense) slowly heats up the cave (flint and rocks) surrounded by green foliage and pine woods.

The opening is a classic and slightly raw leather, leaning towards fresh hides without going all animalic. After approximately an hour it gently and smoothly morphs into a nice and not too sweet green floral scent with tomato leaf and a little incense, which lasts for about another hour and after that it again transitions into a nice smooth base of sandalwood, amber, patchouli and musk which lasts a couple of hours as a skin scent.

It's very strange to look at the note pyramid here, as the leather is supposed to be in the heart while I get it throughout all of the phases. Good projection and average longevity (about 4 hours). I must say I love the odd stoneware bottle design which really stands out.

Mammoth Leather
This has a very bold and full leather profile, neither too animalic or fecal, neither too fresh and conventional, surely it has a modern blend to it which makes it really special. I don't like drawing comparisons because people might diminish one or the other subject but if you enjoy one of those deeper, heavier Electimuss fragrances like Black Caviar, Capua (I don't remember too specifically) you'll love this one. While these are very constructed, "Neandertal Dark" manages to convey a striking and decryptable smell right off the bat in the first sniff despite the long note listing. In my opinion it is a solid fragrance that has an intermediate sourness to it, the only aspect I didn't like.
To me the note listing should put more emphasis on (in decreasing order of concentration) : labdanum, violet, leather, cypress, tobacco, oud, cashmeran, tomato leaf.

Neandertalia
Mammucitus left us with Neandertalia a great impression about the people of the floid Neanderthals, which he brought to paper. Long his work was considered lost, but here it is now:
The Neandertal in its entire extent is limited by the realm of the mammoths as well as by various rivers and primeval rock formations. A king chosen from their midst sits before you, Floid, whom they also call the shell king respectively the king of the forests. He is also said to be able to eat up the most mammoths.
It is said that his wealth comes from his scent creations.
It is generally believed that Neanderthals have always been around. After all, there is still nothing with which one could have crossed the infinite water. Early constructions of foliage and shells proved Neanderthal-decimating.

Let's move on to their fighting behavior. They roar loudly when they come after our lives with spears. The roar comes from their chief Floid spraying something on them beforehand, a liquid called Neandertal Dark. In fright, they all voluntarily run after us, screaming loudly. This concoction smells wild and green. Some of our kind get hungry from it and then unsuspectingly face many Neanderthals. On top of that, they season themselves with sea salt and very strange spices. Many of our kind have to sneeze from it and are then defeated in battle.

The Neanderthals all look extremely feral, especially their chief Floid, when clad only in loincloth he swings the knockout club in his search for a mate. He smells very much of the earth, and his rolling around in that vetiver grass leaves a stern green scent on him and his fellows. It's also due to this newfangled plant with the red, watery fruits. We call these little Dutch watermelons. Dutch because our mammoth friend Dutch was the first to discover this plant. Unfortunately, Neanderthals like to drink and then usually fall into bushes, usually spice-heavy. After that, they then smell. Barbaric.

Their mineral resources are few, they focus almost solely on making Neandertal Dark and do not explore for exploration opportunities of iron, silver, or gold. Only their bard with the long nose flutes with said gilded nose here and there a ditty in which he sings of iron smell and his golden nose as well as the golden Floid statue, here it is probably about the Neanderthal Light. The Neanderthals call such evenings Whakaoke evenings. On these evenings their chief usually scents himself, smells his leather loincloth, rubs incense and other resins on himself, and then ensnares trees. This gives his earthy-green scent a new, more wearable direction. It's a strange ritual, and I don't want to elaborate on what happens after this sort of courtship dance in the forest.

The chiefs actually choose them by noble vote, but in Floid's case also by olfactory prowess. If you sat next to him for hours, a certain green mustiness comes over you like it radiates withering tree, which gradually acquires a mossy patina. It's not yet clear if that part of Neandertal Dark is evoked or if it's Floid's way of talking that ages you.

----------------------

Neandertal Dark smells like a cave entrance overgrown with vines and primeval; wild, archaic, very acidic green to the common nose. Here it's the blend that does it: citrusy elements of tangerine paired with intense green tomato leaf, this can be challenging. Especially since grapefruit is also present and its tart scent is special. Also in mind is mock cypress and cypress is known for its limey nature. Successively it becomes greener, respectively, the acid is lost, but it remains sharp-green.
Resins such as incense underline the green, ginger and cumin spice the tomato leaf and so you get a multi-faceted creation, which first wants to be processed. By the way, mild caraway. Gen end lingers the green-modrige woody undertone.
Certainly a fragrance experience, although I find the Light as more portable. Nevertheless, a beautiful olfactory presentation of a bygone era.

99% ambiguous chemicals
I don't even know where to begin. It smells like those popular chemicals--Iso E Super and maybe ambroxan. Probably some musks too. They were going for a rudimentary woody fragrance I presume, but this smells like 1% quality perfume mixed with a lot of icky stuff. I didn't enjoy it.

Attracted by that seaweed note, but it was more complex than that which is what keeps compelling me to come back.
