Stands out
Wolle was known to be a retired perfumer. Only very rarely did he accept commissioned work; usually the monthly early pension, together with additional income, was enough for the crate of beer in the morning and for one in the afternoon. In the evening there was only schnapps. So one day Wolle received a request he couldn't refuse. He should create the new Neandertal, was allowed to include his leather. This promised to be exciting and full of beer, especially since our hero felt a certain bond. Wolle immediately felt kissed by his muse, which, however, earned him a ban from the pub. The lady next to him was by no means acquainted with him and felt "slightly" uncomfortable by Wolle's wet advances. Not for nothing one called wool in the Herne lady world also the Schlabberschnäuzchen.
Anyway, he should compose something atypical, the predecessors were all quite woody and grassy. Here wanted to devote themselves thematically to the leather loincloth. And so Wolle decided to let Them start slightly leathery. In doing so, he rubbed his worn-out and still pale leather-smelling pants with carrot seeds he accidentally acquired at the hardware store. The result was a rather dry scent that gave the leather a leisurely note. The iris provided dry, slightly powdery facets. Rarely does anything sweet radiate, which on closer inspection is the grapefruit, which has been robbed of its sour notes. There remains a kind of fructose.
Wool laughed to himself. If he had already disposed of the vegetables here, there would be no such thing at lunch. However, he quickly realized that the leather thing was not a good idea. He needed the pants, after all, if he didn't want to risk a charge of causing a public nuisance for the umpteenth time. So he had the iris blasted so hard that the leather was forgotten under all that dry powder.
To keep this from getting too wild, Wool plucked a few magnolias from the bed and poured in 4711, he needed neroli. These presented themselves for a few minutes after an hour or two, then went back to being dry and reminiscent of parched carrots. Wolle briefly wondered if some kind of development would make sense. He quickly dismissed the idea, for the Neanderthals would have stigmatized such approaches as frowned upon. As a brother in spirit, he agreed.
Now it went to the base. Here Wool processed what was possible. Ambergris, ambrette seeds and most importantly styrax. Its heaviness combined with a touch of sweetness makes the fragrance in the background appear substantial. Finished, wool was satisfied.
In fact, this fragrance doesn't resemble the brand's other releases at all. But then again, it's called Them. The idea is nice but at the beginning we have too much iris, the base can not convince, evokes no moods. The approach with the nerol note in the heart is exciting, but this is hardly present. It seems rather as if the head would go directly into the base. So overall, a solid fragrance which has little character. Maybe the other three products were not better but they had something extraordinarily.
