Very beautiful, but ultimately not for me
I just received a sample of this. Looking at the ingredients I would have ignored this treasure, but I'm so glad I got to sample it and now I want a bottle as soon as possible. I think I will go for the perfume instead of the edp. Or maybe both?
The juice is very dark brown and the fragrance is ambery with lots of resins, sweet, earthy and with a tiny amount of skank in it (just right). It's so wonderful and it suits me perfect. I have seldom been so overwhelmed by the beauty of a perfume.
Update 18-6-2014: after my first impression my love cooled a little bit. I wore this fragrance a few times after that and there seems to be an annoying (and to me nauseating) sourish note in it which reminds me of vitamine c. It's a very chemical smelling note, which ruins the complete experience for me. I changed my original rating of 90% into 70%. It's still very pretty, but I just cannot handle it.
I am a huge fan of natural perfumes and I know that Neil Morris uses a blend of natural and synthetic ingredients in his perfumes. Although I understand his choice of wanting a bigger palette instead of restricting himself to a smaller all natural palette, I think it's a pitty. Because some of us are more or less sensitive to some synthetic ingredients and therefore depending on the growing amount of natural perfumers.
It's so sad I cannot wear this version. That said, I would love to own a perfume like Summer of Love, only with all natural ingedients. I guess that would be impossible though....... sigh.
