Yeah, Yatagan was right! It is a dessert wine, and a good one, at that.
In the first statement about this fragrance, written by Yatagan, I read something about dessert wine with floral and green accents. In fact, it was this statement that ordered my thoughts, which had been circling around the question of what this Nishane fragrance reminds me of for hours. On the side, I was wandering around the house as part of my university home-office misery, in need of variety, a little exercise. How surprised and impressed I was when I entered my room after a few minutes, because in the air this perfume unfolded an aura that made many a prejudice about fruity fragrances, namely that they are often synthetic, sweet and sticky, evaporate abruptly. But actually, "Karagoz" already clears up those preconceived opinions at the first spray, as soon as a dark fruity, slightly acidic aroma wets the skin. It is unmistakable that grapes are contained here. I am also able to smell one or the other berry. But the stars tell us exactly which fruit it is, because our initial fruit cocktail smells too multi-layered and complex to be able to explicitly emphasize individual notes.

With the addition of the vetiver, our dark-fruity and sour composition takes on a tart - not too tart - impact. Some people may find it smoky, others green. I would say we meet in the golden mean, a little smoky and a little green - just the typical vetiver appearance, which never gains the upper hand here, but rounds off the fruity character together with a subtle, slightly powdery amber note.

The amber-like warmth, the dark fruit and the tart facets caused by the vetiver create an image that confirms the statement of the user Yatagan. We are served a nice dessert wine, but please do not over taste it, because it is strong ... very strong. Two small sprays from the mini-sprayer flooded our family house. The depth and above all the potency of this fragrance, declared as fruity and green, are therefore something that makes it ideal for the colder days and especially for those of us who like the DNA of a fruity-sweet opium for men from the house of Dior, but are looking for something non-vanilla, something completely unsweet - just as a small guide

In the shadow of his brother?
Hello everyone,
i had always wanted to smell Karagoz since I started this hobby. I liked the fact that it is not as popular as its brother Hacivat. On the one hand, I can understand why Karagoz is not as popular. The fragrance is special and certainly doesn't appeal to everyone. Hacivat is the bigger people pleaser. Karagoz is the brother who causes problems. He is rebellious, doesn't like to play by the rules and is involved in the odd shady deal. But on the other hand, that's exactly what makes him so interesting. He is different from the others. Dark, mysterious and yet very loud. Despite his low popularity, Karagoz is in no way overshadowed by his brother Hacivat. He does his own thing and doesn't care what others think about him. And that's exactly what I like about him.
The grape naturally stands out from the composition. But it is wonderfully complemented by the rest.
Longevity and sillage are amazing! But I have to say that I only notice it a little after 4-5 hours. But it's still there. I'm sure others can easily smell the fragrance on me for 12 hours. Beastmode is in!
I love it very much and don't regret buying it for a second

Evil
This frag is pure evil ! Hacivat is the good guy (white bottle) and his enemy in shadow play is the bad guy(black bottle) . It smells really like the bottle ! Black juicy grapes with the beautiful pineapple and in the background you can smell the patchouli with vetiver . It’s not everybody’s cup of tea but yes, that’s why I like it ????

After trying many fragrances from Nishane, i decided that they have no unique compositions at all. Karagoz reminded me of many designer fragrances from the last 20 years. Armani code, Hugo boss and many more to count.
Karagoz is a fruity patchouli-oud fragrance. It is synthetic but performs very well. It is very masculine, kind of dull and reserved after the midnotes.
Test before you buy because the basenotes are slightly harsh.

Improved after some time
Dec. 2020: Fruity, but also with an acrid note in the opening that burned my nose hairs and made me sad. However, the second phase had a bit more pepper and the acrid note diminished, which helped. Not my favourite of the Nishane sampler set I received, but not completely terrible.

March 2021: I’m trying this again and I like it a lot better. The acrid note doesn’t seem to be there now, or rather perhaps I don’t notice it. Now there’s just a fresh, fruity pineapple opening, with some nice woods beneath. Really quite pleasant!

When we say Nishane, people talk mostly about Hacivat, I think Karagoz is a masterpiece and very underestimated. Wow what a scent and power!

The grapes are noticeable right from the start. It shares a lot of similarities with Ted Lapidus Black Soul Imerial and Dunhill Icon.

Similar to Rasasi Hawas, which is interesting. A bit designer smelling, but top projection and longevity. It´s like a light fruity Hacivat.

Unique sweet grape soda scent that gets greener and more masculine as it dries down. Excellent performance, jumps off the skin right away.
