Perfume with a personality disorder

I started with a lot of expectation, as this perfume comes from the creator of Ani. But the different accord groups stay separate like oil and water in this perfume. In other words, the notes are not very well blended.

For my nose, the yuzu and bergamot family of notes cannot be easily blended with rose, Jasmine and iris notes. It could have worked if the citrus was prominent in the opening, giving way to rose and floral in the middle or dry down. This development is what I like with Mefisto. However, Nanshe just bombs us with all the notes creating an olfactory confusion. Also, it muddles the personality of the perfume.

It may work for someone else. But I am going to give this a hard pass. There are so many other perfumes before I would buy a bottle of Nanshe.

A milky bandung drink

The opening was strong on spices as expected of Nishane, with a powerful wave of cardamom wrapped around a bouquet of feminine florals, especially rose. Lasting power was weaker than most Nishanes, but I liked the softer, powdery yet syrupy gentle rose scent that came out in the drydown. It smelled similar to a milky bandung drink for those who are familiar with Southeast Asia.

Beautiful and feminine but I won’t purchase a full bottle as I think there are more suitable rose scents for me out there - I’d prefer more edge and spice and wetness.

Lady with make-up

For someone unisex, for me a purely feminine scent - the scent of purity, close to the scent of a woman's face, powder, make-up. It goes into the chypre style. There is a very fine powder and musk in the perfume. Inside the body of the perfume is a dark rose - complete, with leaves and stem. And cardamom and carrot seed are also running around. In the end, it all looks clean, like a freshly made-up lady who just came back from the bathroom with her make-up on.

The perfume has great staying power and projection that goes the way I like it in gusts of air, in waves. Not every woman or confident man may like this fragrance, although I think it suits a woman better. But I think it is a very well made fragrance from the Turkish factory Nishane.
