Aristocratic superlatives and adjectives have always been part of the art of perfume. Whereas in the past they "simply" indicated the client in the name of the fragrance, this form of naming developed further over the centuries. A good 150 years ago, for example, a lady bought "DEN", a fragrance that her monarch also wore to feel closer or at least connected to her.
In this day and age, this was replaced by marketing. In a market of hyper-competition and word marks, "Chypré Extraordinaire" is now dueling with "Majestueux Vetiver". To the favor of the buyer.
Olga dedicated this fragrance to Alexander I, one of the most influential tsars in history and a pioneer of the development of Germany under Napoleon's territorial claims at the beginning of the 19th century.
Majestueux Vetiver starts with an almost floating, green-herb freshness of a cool morning. It appears clear, linear and very classic. In the beginning, the citrus fruits are very well perceptible close to the skin, before they are lost in the vetiver sounds. Lavender and cypress take away the astringency of the vetiver, which is otherwise often overpresented, and give everything a very harmonious aura. The mixture of vanilla and patchouli brings a very subliminal chocolate note. This fits really well to the Vetiver and increases the wearing comfort.
With a good 8 hours durability and a medium projection this Vetiver is a real surprise for me. I like vetiver fragrances very much, but many creations are too "loud" for me, sometimes too harsh or difficult to dose for my everyday life.
All these worries dissolve with Majestueux Vetiver in pleasure. As an almost creamy vetiver scent, I would definitely ascribe unisex potential to it.
