The Russian soul
One or the other may still remember that I fell for the Ukrainian offshoot of Russian Forest of the brand Aromat more or less a few years ago and commented on it. Financially no loss, because it was a 2 Euro product, but still annoying, because even this was too expensive and you were left extremely irritated. You can at least see it positively that you finally got a fragrance again in front of the nose, which rightly changiert under 3 points. Compared to even the verpanschtesten mainstreamer of the modern era are purest olfactory revelations.
But now finally the legendary original of Novaya Zarya. Spray on is not here, because the fragrance is offered (as well as the replica of Aromat) in the bulk bottle - but in its notes far more pleasant and incomparable. The very first thing you have to take note of, however: it smells like forest here not at all, even from woody nuances hardly a trace.
But you perceive extremely much of Russia. I myself was yes at the end of the 70s (so then still strictly speaking USSR) with my mother and grandma in Moscow and also personally know some Russians. I remember from the past as well as from the present that people like to drink a lot of black tea. This is actually strongly concentrated and is diluted with boiling water from the samovar.
Exactly this strong black tea is reflected in Russian Forest excellent, partly with a slight bergamot note, as in Earl Grey or very delicate minty impact, as you drink it rather in the Russian South.
With it in the fragrance, is a slightly soapy note, which seems a little sober, but provides a basic solid groundedness. This comes across rather rustic, but has quite its charm. Especially when floral notes then come into play. On the one hand, I have a feeling that Russian women love to decorate their homes with flowers especially roses. On the other hand, they are somehow the same roses that you encounter in the men's cologne Krasnaya Moskva by Novay Zarya. Maybe a little dusty and not necessarily modern, but still fascinating.
Here and there cavort some spices and possibly borrowings from other floral materials, but woody notes one continues to search in vain. At least come in the base then in each case a touch of patchouli and vanilla to round off the creation towards the end.
Mind you, who likes it rather rustic with a few subtleties and the Russian is not averse or even there has its roots, which should arrange itself with Russian Forest best.
