Last minute
Do you remember? It wasn't really that inviting when we had to find an apartment for our holiday in 2017. It was cheap and when we arrived, we also knew why that was so. We couldn't expect great things. A worn out room, the floor in the hallways dirty and already quite old and often the garbage was left for days until it was picked up. But we had what we needed to get away from the stress of everyday life. The pool was big. And really inviting. Even if it was a bit heavily chlorinated. From the main road where the hotel was located, one could constantly notice the exhaust fumes, but at the same time also the always very fine whiff of sweet pastries from the nearby pasteleria, specially in the morning. Even if not everything was perfect, this week in the hot August at that time did us good. And we found it in the end probably not so bad, because after the renovation we have 2019 immediately again a look at the plant, which now shines in new splendor, but at the same time still seems a little sparse. Maybe we'll come back again sometime?
Pathétique by O'Driu is a guarantee for mental cinema. A special fragrance, which, I look at the impressions here so, triggers different associations everywhere. For me, it's this. This somewhat shabby apartment building in Ibiza. The scent starts sweet at first with the truffle notes. But I also think I detect the amyris I like to sniff here. Really, the scent doesn't seem burnt to me. Nor does it seem sacral. There's something flickering, yes, but more in the background and it can't really be characterized. Is it a coal fire? Is it simply car exhaust? Fascinating how the incense is used here. What triggers this heavily chlorinated note for me keeps me guessing. Perhaps the juniper with the pepper? It's this note that makes the scent only partially wearable for me, because it makes me think a bit of a freshly chlorinated bathroom, as is common in southern countries, unfortunately. The pleasant sweetness, however, persists, does not let itself be crushed by chlorine and consorts and continues to provide a smile. It's fun. Definitely. I will probably not need him rather.
