Cleansing
Heather describes Palo Santo as her interpretation of the ancient cleansing rites, that have been carried out with the resinous wood by indigenous peoples for thousands of years. The balsamic-woody scent of the "holy wood" is supposed to banish ghosts and heal diseases or at least promote their healing.
The wood itself already has a slightly smokiness to me, which I find very beautiful. Especially the very few ingredients of this natural fragrance are the perfect counter-concept to the mostly accord-laden creations of modern times. I see this scent as an olfactory image - a scented time capsule.
With the roll-on - the fragrances are only available as a 9ml version - applied, the fragrance melts into my skin and nourishes from my body heat. It is perceptible, but also not a "classic" perfume.
In my head it is the scent of a shaman in an energetic cleansing ritual. It fits well for my daily meditations and has a very calming, and, yes, also cleansing effect on me.
