The fragrance that just recalls to cold
The Context
This is the third fragrance that I write about from that spring break batch, and at this point I’m tired of mentioning that in the context section. It was the one that I used most often after I received them because it smelled like Pour Un Homme de Caron, although now I don’t see these two creations as that similar. Pour Un Homme in the last few days I sprayed it a lot lately light and frequently and I fell in love with it once more.
The Scent
This is one of my favorite fragrances that has a cooling effect on its scent profile, hence the name. This is a lavender compiled with a strong mint that creates a cooling effect. Our senses can be a bit tricked by some of the herbs and vegetables. The pepper, the cinnamon, the black and pink pepper have Capsaicin, which is the chemical that tricks your brain into thinking that your mouth it’s on fire, so it is with mint, the protein called TRPM8 is making that cooling effect.
The Projection
It has just a moderate level. I asked a few times the ones that were in close and longer proximity from me and said that in close it’s easily detectable, and from 2 meters just a bit. I would say that this is because of the pepper mixed with mint for that good projection.
The Longevity
From my experience get around 5 to 6 hours. More importantly, this has a linear scent. It does not evolve into a different scent after one or two hours, but stays in a boring linear development until it becomes a weak skin scent.
The Bottle
This is a neat thin shaped glass with a simple label on it, a plastic thin cap and an atomizer that needs a decent pump after a week of not applying it on my skin.
The Perfumer
I wish I knew who has made this fragrance because I’m really curious of his or her experience with such gimmicks and other fragrances from his or her catalogue that have a similar direction with a different note.
Conclusions
So, this creation it’s a simple commercial one that has the cool effect gimmick and has decent projection and longevity. I do not recommend this fragrance in winter because it doesn’t perform well in the cold and in a warm place this one just cancels the feel of the fire or any kind of heat. I would say that this is perfect on a dry hot day, 30 to 35 degrees celsius and above. This one would’ve been perfect on one of my days of vacation where I visited a huge city. In the morning the temperature was alright but in the afternoon it was dry and hot. The sky was clear and having some water with you was mandatory. I regret that I didn’t pack this one during that vacation. It would just sparkle.
Thank you so much for reading my review! I was in the last week a bit insecure about continuing to use this format with the structure and the subjects but in the end I need to stay focused on the topic and not just rant and bounce all over the place from one place to another. Next, I will write about Avon Homme, a green fragrance that swings between an aromatic and a woody type of scent profile. I will try to make another review in the coming days.
