Confident and pleasant
The Context
This is another sample from my collection that I received for my birthday and it came alongside the feminine version of this flaker. It catched my senses for its multipolarity. It is a bit sweet, a bit aromatic, a bit cooler, but that I will talk about in the respective section.
The Scent
This is a fragrance that flows from three accords in the opening, the sweet, the cooler effect and the fresh and spicy one. But in the drydown it reveals the peppery accord and it stays fresh and a bit cool. In the opening I detect the absinth and the icy accord with the fresh bergamot, also in the drydown I get the fruity orange with the sage and the salt, those two from the distance make a peppery accord that could hook someone with ease. Towards the late drydown I pick the oak and the woody notes mixed a bit with the sage, but just for a few moments, the woods alone did not impressed me that much.
The Projection
While wearing this one I get a medium to an extended projection easily in the first three hours, tha latter part it retreats a bit and gets more woody. Either way this attracts attention and curiosity in a pleasant and confident way.
The Longevity
I get around 6 hours with this one and around the first 3 hours this is a good pusher, even a room filler, but again, after that it is more gentle. Sometimes the 6 hours can be surpassed. It has a sneaky way of still projection in the 8th or 9th hour and I kinda like the fragrances that do that.
The Perfumer
Elise Benat has made a few fragrances compared to other perfumers of her experience, but she has made a better achievement in my opinion with her creations for Amouage, including Blossom Love, one of the most beautiful vanilla fragrances that I’ve experienced. Go check that one out and see for yourself. From what I’ve read she specializes herself into creating olfactive images, memories, in the same way Meo Fusciuni and Pierre Guillame uses scents for reassessing memories. Truly impressive.
Conclusions
This fragrance was supposed to be an olfactive memory of Elise's but it turned out to be just an attractive masculine scent that has some aromatic elements to it. Maybe she did work for this one with an image in her mind, maybe one that occurred in the winter season, or maybe this was just a regular job. I tend to think that this was at the same time a passionate project and regular one because it is well made and interestingly composed, but at the same time it was made for the masses, to appeal to a larger public.

In the beginning I was a bit bored but once I finally had the time to talk about Mrs. Benat I got more passionate because I really loved her work for Amouage and I wanted to describe her vision and work with my full enthusiasm. For the next review I will write about Mister Giordani By Oriflame also, it is similar to this one but a bit more floral and with a synthetic feel.
