Nothing but sharp edges
It opened with a sharp white floral and lime. The magnolia was the most prominent followed by the Jasmine. I could catch a whiff of the Frangipani every so often, but it was shouted down by the Jasmine, and Magnolia.

After it settled down, the Frangipani came forward a bit more. It was a true plumeria scent but sharp. It didn't have the warm feel to it.

Overall it had the "generic white floral" thing going on for me. I would prefer to wear Songes if I am in the mood for a true Hawaiian floral

A subtle, sweet and resinous multifloral bouquet
The first point which I should probably make about Ormonde Jayne FRANGIPANI is that I managed to drain my entire large (2 ml or is it 2.5?) spray sample vial in very little time. So, no, this is not an overly potent potion, as tropical floral perfumes sometimes are. Instead, FRANGIPANI offers a pleasing bouquet of a variety of floral notes, only one of which is frangipani, and none of which is especially strong. Rose, linden, tuberose, jasmine, water lily, and orchid are all listed among the notes, in addition to frangipani, but none of these is dominant to my nose.

The slightly sweet and resinous quality of this composition is manifest and makes it seem a bit more oriental than floral. One thing is clear: FRANGIPANI is not at all a soliflore, as its name suggests. Instead, it's a nice, relatively polite little bouquet of a variety of flowers suspended in a clean musky and lightly ambery base. I like this creation, but it's not my favorite from the Ormonde Jayne line. It seems more like something that was produced to appeal to mainstream perfume users making the transition to niche. Although some men may take a liking to FRANGIPANI, it definitely strikes me as more feminine than masculine or unisex.
