The Isfarkand Upgrade
Isfarkand was always a really beautiful and successful fragrance. The fresh citric, paired with the very clear woody chords of the Iso-E-Super, draw a beautiful DNA for a men's fragrance. It was actually the ISO that kept me from adding Isfarkand to my collection in 40 or 50 percent oil concentration as Made-to-Measure. The reason for this was my experiences with Montabaco Extreme, which also had an ISO base at 50% concentration. Unfortunately a little too much for me.
At Isfarkand it is precisely this "simplicity" that works on point, that impressed me so much. All the more I was naturally interested in how the fragrance performs at 42%. For the test, I applied two sprayers of the EDP on my left arm and two sprayers of Elixir on my right arm.
If the EDP starts briefly peppery-citric and turns into woody after only 5 minutes (ISO-E), the Elixir is much more balanced at the start. It takes almost 30 minutes for the citric prelude and brings in the wood in an amazing way, Very warm and soft. A real surprise.
In a direct comparison, the EDP's ISO grade appear a bit chemical and rough. The EDP remains unchanged for me up to the 6 hour markers and then almost disappears on my skin. Suddenly it's "gone".
In contrast, the elixir sparkles with woody-moosy nuances from the second hour onwards and allows the citric to skillfully withdraw and retire. Isfarkand-Elixir remains - for another 4 to 5 hours - a wonderfully soft, potent, green-woody dream. Only at the 7-hour stamps it slowly begins to lose his strength, but confidently manage an office day.
Isfarkand Elixir is a real masterpiece that deliberately avoids an Iso-E overkill and instead presents a mature, almost adult Isfarkand - as an upgrade.
