You better love your ISO
Ormonde Jayne created a limited summer fragrance for Selfridges. Montabaco Extreme. (Let's call it Mont in the following, as OJ likes to do himself.) Basically, you could say that this scent already exists. And yet I would vehemently deny it. Yes, the perfume concentration is "only" 8% higher than that of the regularly available Mont Intensivo. Yes, it is perhaps at first glance "only" a pretty grey bottle and a box on which Limited Edition is written. And the number was drastically limited. All rather statistical facts.

The fragrance is clearly aimed at fans of the Montabaco Intensivos. So this scent is not for every day. Not for every workplace. But very well for very high temperatures. In combination with plenty of fresh air (and skin warmth), it awakens a monster on the skin. Or let's say a black angel. Just like the smoky grey bottle.

Like all 50% concentrations of OJ, this Mont starts directly in the heart note of the fragrance. And is also the first half hour very diffuse. The ISO from the base already pushes forward with brute force. The other chords stagger a little, felt. Shyly concealed. Silence - temporary. We have to find her room first. This means that even the fresh, citric aspects of the top note are assimilated directly and thus do not play as a "supporting group". But I can clearly smell the juniper, while the orange, strongly dimmed, flashes through every now and then.

After a good 1.5 hours, the first, almost sedating, rumble ebbs and ISO opens the scenery. We are still in a woody spicy, but always fresh fragrance. Floral chords find their way a little. A little.

After another 3 hours - the ISO remains unbraked and unchecked - the chords of the drydown slowly begin. And this is where the fragrance comes into its own. The high perfume concentration not only provides an immediate introduction to the heart note. No, it prolongs the drydown and brings it, chronologically speaking, at a rather early point in time (compared to the intensive) and then makes it sound another 4+ hours.

Mont Extreme is not just an announcement in name. He definitely doesn't take prisoners. It is for fans, lovers and "ISO madmen". Beyond these profiles, it might just be a trip. A test. But then possibly not to be recommended for wearing. You have to be able to walk the first hours of the ISO overdose to enjoy the drydown, which is really unbelievably beautiful. And we are talking about a good 4-5h drydown with high projection. Two (!) sprayers provide here and today just a radius of felt 15 meters. With increasing distance to the epicentre (me), obviously already in the early phase of unfolding, with very positive feedback. This scent is exactly what niche is to me. To leave conventions and growd pleasers behind and go your own way.

PS: Fair enough I have to admit that I found my Everest in Montabaco Extreme. This ISO concentration leads me to headaches (which I really don't tend to) because it seems to completely overload my olfactory perception. I'm afraid so. Because the drydown is simply unique.
