Chetyre is actually a relatively extreme scent for me, at least at first glance. The ingredients are just as extreme, Prin probably felt compelled to act according to the principle that a lot helps a lot. For me, the fragrance is dominated by an unlisted note, more about that later. All in all the leather penetrates but stays green for hours until it enters into other collaborations.
We open with coarse leather; with leather that has not been tanned properly or in the way it was done in the past with the result that there is still something raw and penetrating in the air.
Immediately the scent takes on a sharp green note, I thought of laurel at first. No, what came out of it was parsley. Hot, spicy and intense. Anyway, I got this olfactory impression. In the end, the ivy will have been responsible for this effect plus the musty forest smell that has settled in the leather. This is the most intense part of the fragrance
Now Prin has already created leathery moorland landscapes, but here he is not able to do so. The sharp green element is too intense, the scent is too linear. Only hours later does the green retreat.
What remains is a leather that appears increasingly supple. Here, obviously filigree floral nuances unite with the rough leather without being sweet. This is missing and this makes the leather look supple.
Anyway, the development is again very successful, Chetyre develops, is multifaceted and lets here and there individual woods flash up. The resins coat the Russian leather, the tar I only gently notice in the background. For me he is of a Black Star style thanks to the numerous floral supporting actors.
Bottom line. Let's face it: I appreciate some of Prins fragrances very much, I also see the flood of releases and I have to admit that I have the feeling that newer fragrances become more harmless and generic or are not properly finished. I think that is a great pity. Maybe Chetyre would be a 7,5 or more scent but on the other hand Prin has composed similar scents often enough and just has to put together some set pieces. Even the outstanding development is not enough for me.
