From apples and trunks
Parfums de Marly are treading water. Looks so stagnation in olfactory form? Rarely has a new release from the "niche area" disappointed me as much as the green apple from Paris.

The reputation actually a "designer" brand in the guise of a niche house to be, PDM somehow does not get rid of. Individual ventures to escape this clientele have failed miserably. Nobody writes anything about Hamdani or Byerley and the interest in these fragrances is at 0. In contrast, Herod, Layton or Pegasus are celebrated as if there were no tomorrow. So the guideline is given. One wants to smell pleasing, so that everyone who is disappointed by designer fragrances or who wants to broaden his horizon, will not be put in front of the head here either. Since one speaks then of "significantly higher-quality ingredients" and gaukelt the customer a kind of niche quality before the only on paper exists.

Greenley is the latest offspring from the stable Parfums de Marly. One opens with a pungent synthetic mishmash that trots along completely aimlessly. After a few minutes, the "star" of the show joins in. An apple, which in its synthetic appearance makes even the manufacturer "Trolli" with its apple rings pale with envy. You quickly throw a few woods after it and you're done. Hardly any depth, no great development. A designer in niche clothes. A classic Parfums de Marly.

Fragrance: synthetic apple meets woods of the brand "Belanglos"
Flacon: Valuable, as not otherwise expected at PDM
Sprayer: good level with air to the top
Durability: the green horse goes quite quickly out of breath. After 6-7 hours you have to change
Price: designer fragrance in the niche area can be paid accordingly. Even with 50% discount still too expensive

Parfums de Marly stagnate. Another petty and completely interchangeable designer fragrance in the niche corset. It presses and pinches at all corners. Who wants a synthetic, fresh apple, which reaches for the Cheapie Lacoste Red Eau de Toilette and goes for the rest with his sweetheart beautiful dinner

Quickie on the green meadow
Fade in: 28°C, sunshine, a light breeze, a green place in the middle of nature...the fast pleasure under the open sky...exciting, sensual, beguiling, captivating, overwhelming and tingling...that's Greenley!

Opened immediately with fresh wild intense green kisses, the bergamot is clearly perceptible...after a few minutes apples and mandarins dance through the nose in wild rhythm...almost tingling, playing with the senses, unleashing together a stimulating experience, for about half an hour...then the excitement subsides, light wooden notes appear, the fragrance becomes calmer, more relaxed and mature; still remains slightly fresh and harmless.

In the further course it comes closer and closer to the skin, the moss comes through and forms a pleasant base with the woody-notes...the exciting time is over, after about three hours only a skinscent remains.

To sum up, Greenley is a sensual experience, an exciting experience, a really exciting fragrance...which unfortunately smells too quick but makes you want to go for another round ;)

Was it worth the wait ???
With Parfums de Marly it was not really easy for me lately. 3-4 months ago began for me a phase in which I always had the feeling Parfums de Marly is boring and is only a brand which manufactures niche for designer lovers. Unfortunately, I also had the problem that I had with Parfums de Marly the shelf life deteriorated. My Herod and Layton from 2016 was significantly better than my 2020 purchased bottles.

Let me sum it up: I was no longer convinced by Parfums de Marly, rather even averse to it. Perhaps some can relate to my sentiments regarding Parfums de Marly.

It should really be a very long time until I can now hold a bottle of Greenley in my hands. Immediately after the release of Greenley, I procured a large bottling. The price and lack of availability in Europe eventually led me to totally forget about Greenley. My bottling I had half consumed until today my bottle finally arrived.

Greenley I see as a rather very unusual Parfums de Marly. With Parfums de Marly, most people associate easy to wear oriental and sweet perfumes and sometimes still spicy fresh or aquatic perfumes. Greenley is fresh and fruity, which I find very interesting.

Greenley starts with a nice apple note, here I think of green apples. This note is accompanied by a gentle bergamot and tangerine note. The cashmere wood reminds me of Escentric Molecules Molecule 05, Greenley also uses this note very generously. I don't detect the other woody notes. The base adds some musk to the mix, but again I can only detect one note. Greenley transforms from a very fruity scent to a woody fruity scent. For me, the top note could have a longer presence. Therefore, I also deduct half a point here.

For me, the wait for Greenley was worth it, because Greenley is really something great and new from Parfums de Marly. But probably this new direction also leads to negative associations, as you can see in some reviews. Parfums de Marly is simply associated with other perfumes and those very perfumes are expected in a new release. Greenley, however, disappoints these expectations across the board.

For me, Greenley is also a great alternative for Aventus and Aventus Cologne, because I have been looking for a fresh and fruity fragrance that is also a little more unique. Greenley has closed this gap for me.

In Greenley I see but no pure men's fragrance. Greenley I see quite clearly as a unisex perfume.

Greenley - or I think my nose is going crazy
I'm afraid my nose smells different than most here. Or maybe I have a different definition of "fresh". I bought Greenley blind based on the reviews, YouTube descriptions, and general associations (fresh, spring, green, Sedley cousin - I like Sedley a lot - etc. etc. ). Direct from PdM. With customs clearance, not a cheap affair.

And then I was disappointed. Not because it is a bad fragrance, no, but because my expectations (too much hype?) were completely different. Fresh is different. Percival is fresh. Tangy is different. Colonia Assoluta is sparkling, Bigarade Concentrée is sparkling. Somebody down there says Aventus - huh? Do I have a different bottle?

Yes, the apple is there and then the wood. But it works better in the fall. PdM can do better. Too bad.

But just, when I read so all the other impressions / hear so I wonder really if my nose is crazy. Probably it is.

And now I dedicate again to my Acqua di Parma's. There, at least, my nose seems to agree with the general olfactory associations of mankind.

Have we all beenappalled ?
It was a sunny day. I had the day off. Totally euphoric by the temperatures and the sun, I strolled into the kitchen and noticed that I had forgotten to buy coffee.
So I drove to Rewe and bought espresso and lungo.
Comfortably I sat there in the sun and thought it's time for a review for Greenley.

So, as you can tell, my opening doesn't have much to do with the scent. I just wanted to tell you about the feeling of missing coffee in the morning :)

Now that I have your full attention, I want to share with you my experience with PdM's Hulk aka. Grinch aka. Green Lantern aka. Green Apple aka. Greenley.
As a loyal follower of fresh scents, I've become quite a bit more discerning over time. Means: there are now max. 3-4 fresh fragrances that currently convince me.
THOUGH: The balance between too weak and too annoying / pungent to master, is from my point of view an art in itself.
Creed's egg-cellent "Aventus" is still hard to top in my eyes (though not a newbie). Whether 2009 or 21 batch.

So fresh = mainstream ? Clear No. It's all about the uniqueness of a niche fragrance. In fact, it's harder for a fresh fragrance to earn the title of niche than a heavy oud fragrance, for example.

Is Greenley now niche or "mainstream green"?
It's a little mainstream, a little designer, but also a little niche.
For that, we'll have to rewind briefly....also Rewind...

210EUR for 125ml this is utter joke. Unoriginal and basic designer quality freshie. Gucci did it better last year. Disappointing shower gel

This is so boring and unoriginal. I love PDM but they can keep this one and pretty much everything they dropped since 2018. In 1 word, YAWN

Another designer type scent from PdM. Synthetic green, citrus and wood. Crowdpleasing and easy on the nose. Worth the money? Probably not.

I’d be doing this scent a disservice by calling it a well blended & composed air freshener, but that is all it makes me think of.

Synthetic, almost sickeningly sweet apple notes followed by....nothing. No complexity, no longevity, no projection beyond the 1st hour.
