When Paul leads us around by the nose again..
Attentive and regular readers still know that Paul Emilien's "Orchidée Charnelle", so the fleshy orchid did not quite fit the name. Although there was neat orchid, but with fleshy in the form of massive, full, much or even sensual, the fragrance had little to do.
Similarly, it behaves with "Cuir Rustique". As already noted by my previous writer, this eau de parfum is anything but rustic. In this sense, this does not even have to be a minus, because this fragrance unfolds quite complex with a wonderful soft suede tone.
The really interesting thing: nebem said suede flashes through the whole development of spraying on to the drydown every now and then discreet orangy, citrus, slightly floral, spicy and resinous or balsamic notes. This makes "Cuir Rustique" seem relatively complex, but not chaotic, but somehow tidy. In fact, in places it reminds me a little of "Tuscan Leather, but rather restrained with a hint of orange. At least in the beginning, because in the unfortunately too early drydown one has the feeling that one or the other raspberry could have hidden under the leather ... however.
Ultimately, "Cuir Rustique" is a remarkable leather fragrance with many facets from something tart to slightly sweet, which one has hardly on the radar. Possibly one can be misled by the rustic epithet but too much, like the fact that you look for the red thyme in vain. But I think hardly anyone would miss it.
