Most beautiful of all summer night dreams
What I regret about this scent:
Its name, Luna, and the silvery lilac tone of the liquid evoke such tremendously strong associations with summer forest nights in me that I have never been able to wear this fragrance during the day until now - on the contrary, I always reserve it for the most special summer nights, because it is my most beautiful summer night dream fragrance.
The associations are many, and many perfumes and perfumas associate similar things, as the fantastic comments on this fragrance show: Elves and glades. Lemonade and gin. Bright moonlight and cool roses. Luna and Endymion. Let's group these associations into categories and bring a little order into them:

- Figures: elves, fairies, gods
- Plot: dancing
- Setting: Moonlight, forest clearing
- dominant colour nuances: silvery, milky
- Rations: Lemonade, gin
- Plants: roses

Well - it's kind of interesting to wonder why so many intelligent, adult people indulge in fantasies of mysterious nature beings, mystical moonlight, nightly dances in forest clearings with this fragrance. And I cannot deny this effect at all - I am so caught up in fantasies myself that I can only wear this fragrance late in the evening or at night. What is Luna doing to us?

I think that no different from generations of poets of the Romantic era, we too fall victim to the allure of the unfathomable, the allure of the unclear, the ambiguous, the premonitions of the archetypal - the moon goddess Luna, the Great Mother, Mother Earth, Celtic and Roman mythological fragments are mixed together to form an unbelievably mysterious image of true femininity, the original, actual, real femininity. Thus it is an image that pretends to approach an authentic form of one's own existence, to reinforce and extract it from everything irrelevant and obsolete that the unpoetic everyday life spreads over it. It is thus above all identity-creating moments that follow the associative observation of the Luna bottle, and this may well be the secret of its success.

But above all Luna gives herself as a secret. Whether I think of Puck from Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" or of secret rituals of Celtic priestesses, of witches on Blocksberg Mountain or of the delicate fairies of my childhood - Luna associatively connects us with mystical beings who do not touch our reality in any way and yet are so close to what might seem to be the secret goal of our quest: the silence of untouched nocturnal nature, the supposed source for the realization of our innermost wishes and desires.

And this is where the scent comes in: Citrus-fresh, brightly awake, tangy, full of fantasy, the beautiful, unforgettable top note appears, perhaps the most beautiful combination of classic citrus fruits I know: as without sweetness, as tart and fresh as a bath in the cool moonlight.
Then YOU use the actual forest notes, the deliciously spicy elements that seem to conjure up a distillate of the deepest, most inaccessible forest from this fragrance in the blink of an eye: Notes of the pristine rose that blooms in secret, floral-fine and elegant, and juniper, that spicy note that is as characteristic of the shrubs of a forest as gin.
Thus a path is paved into the untrodden, unreached, inaccessible part of the forest, which triggers the longing, which is surrounded by the myth of the subconscious, which releases the fear of the unknown. And this path is beautiful! It is covered with moss and soft, damp and cool this moss feels under your feet. It is bright, illuminated by the silvery moonlight and clearly recognizable. It has a pleasant scent of roses and juniper, and is surrounded by tall, rustling fir trees, whose resin and needle smell releases a soothing spice that induces a sense of well-being.
This is the basis of the fragrance: fine, natural-looking, warm fir extract that plays with the resinous richness of amber.
The path through the forest that Luna paves is a gift to us, free and easy and romantic and beautiful. A little bit of Luna, this fragrance, this bottle, this silvery liquid, the captured moonlight - a piece of the way to the innermost self.
Luna is a great perfume metaphor

Of sweetly tipsy elves and jack-oŽ-lterns - A story told by Luna
It was a cool December night. The full moon stood high in the sky and bathed the forest in diffuse light. Wafting wafts of mist crawled over the mossy forest floor and the fir trees swaying in the soft wind radiated the scent of their resin. The air was spicy and sparkling, equally sweet and tart in perfect harmony.
As if out of nowhere, a stray will-o'-the-wisp scurried among the old trees, jumped from here to there, paused for a moment and continued jumping. The bright whitish glow that emanated from him shimmered and twitched as it moved on in the blink of an eye, as silent as a ghost.
Again it jumped forward and turned around and then remained in the air only a few centimetres above the ground.
"Where am I, where am I?" it whispered into the night.
The answer was a bell-like laughter from the thicket directly in front of him. When it looked more closely, it realised that the thicket was a large rose bush, still in full bloom to the amazement of the little wisp, emitting an extraordinary scent. The aromas were warm and cool at the same time as a liaison of freshly baptized roses and beguiling jasmines with the enamel of amber.
In the midst of a particularly magnificent flower, a small elf lolled and smiled. In her hands she held a tiny little calyx whose rim was candied with sugar and which contained a drop of gin.
"Where am I?" the Night Wisp repeated his question.
"You're here," giggled the elf and sipped on her chalice.
"I got lost," replied the little Night Wisp, "and I don't know where *here* is."
The elf let her happy little bell laugh again: "A stray will-o'-the-wisp... that's not possible," she hummed and took a strong sip. "Here and now is just right!"
The Night Wisp came closer. "How can I be right here and now when I'm lost after all?" it asked doubtingly.
"How can you be lost when you are right here and now?" the elf replied and smiled happily.
The little Night Wisp thought for a moment and came to the conclusion that the elf was right. To be in the here and now was the only right thing!
So it joined the elf in the rose blossom, shared his light and her gin with her, enjoyed the cool, meanwhile lovely night air and was happy until morning

LUNA in the dialogue of the hemispheres
Right hemisphere:
He smells so beautiful of etheric moonlight, so bright and...
Left hemisphere:
Moonlight cannot smell
Re:
But and the bottle also has exactly this beautiful milky color of moonlight, I want the haaaaben!!!!!
Li:
Have you ever looked at your account?is out of the question!!!
Re:
But the tender Röslein at the wayside, it is still quite young and does not sting either, it is so shy that it only stretches its head towards the moon, on the day it does not dare
Li:
Don't give me your vest pocket poetry, others can do better!!!
Re:
Sultry.
The limbic system turns on:
If I may say something...
Li:
Flap
Limb System:
Now I'm not so dominant, I had it really hard lately, because I can still treat myself to the moonlight in the bottle!!
Li:
Shut up!!
Besides you read yes, smells like juniper ham, there are nevertheless also briefly in the brooding come!
Limb System:
Sultry
Re:
Yes, but that was only very short and the juniper adds a gentle spice together with the fir balsam and the ambergris I imagine standing barefoot on the forest floor in the moonlight...
Li:
As if you would dare to go into the forest at night, you are afraid of wild pigs and ticks!!!
Re:
Not at all true I was already at night in the forest and would go again if you would not keep me from it with your reason!!!
And with Luna I can take the forest walk barefoot home in the ethereal moonlight!!!!!and the scent lasts at least 6 hours!!!!
Re:
Oh, do what you want...

Oops, I felt as if I had heard voices in my head, sometimes it's also so?
Mm, must be a cold and fever...
So, now I want to report something about Luna, have a bottling from the last Sharing and would so like the bottle!!!

In this one night the moon gives its ethereal light only to the small rose at the wayside,
barefoot I stand on the forest floor while fir needle wort bewitches my senses.
For a precious moment the moon wraps its milky silver veil around the sleeping forest.

Cream and Lemons
Luna - The name literally screamed for me. A look at the pyramid and I could quickly imagine what awaits me. What I think of Penhaligon's Luna, you learn here.

The first sniff:
Luna starts with a refreshing citrus that is friendly and not intrusive on the nose. Bergamot and bitter orange give way here to the primofiore lemon, unknown to me, it is the star of the opener. But you quickly notice that the juniper berry also contributes to the initial freshness, occasionally accompanied by the bitterness of the orange. This head is not something that will make your fellow men go up but you will certainly not get on anyone's nerves with it.

The course:
Relatively quickly, the feminine perfume becomes softer, creamier, but remains clean. Increasingly, the fragrance begins to develop stronger and stronger in a balsamic direction and also the rose may mix in a little, unlike the jasmine. I do not find here at all.
The animalic base of ambergris and musk, by the way, keeps very much in the background, only in the drydown you can still guess something of it - even if only very weakly.

In general, the fragrance remains very linear in its further development and patiently holds on to its citrus-fresh character. I also believed to hear a vanilla sweetness, which is not listed here. Well, who knows if they really let us participate in the whole composition ;).

The fragrance combines well with my skin chemistry and smells after a few hours less fresh and more like creamed skin, very nice!

My conclusion:
So you want to smell when everything is under control, when you do not want to stand out but smell good. Luna fits very well in everyday life and at work, for evening I find him a little too unexciting. You get a pleasant freshness that is not too soapy and not too powdery.
The performance is average to good, my skin wore it for 6 hours through.

Feel free to write what you think of it and if the description helped you :)

Moonstruck.
A glass of citrus water and a gin in the moonlight, framed by rose bush and jasmine. It needs a light soft musk blanket around the shoulders against the cool air that comes from the edge of the forest.
The delicate citrus fruit sweetness and the weightless floral freshness blend with a light forest aroma and fresh juniper.
For AugustA this Penhaligon's is compared to Juniper Sling the much better, because more durable juniper fragrance, but also the dreamier, flowerier, more feminine. That goes of course also to gentlemen, in a bright summer night. A little moonstruck presupposed.

Smells like cheap, scented markers.

It does smell nice close up, though. Citrusy, rosy and clean

Wonderful soapy, fresh citron and rose perfume that's reminiscent of vintage rose soaps. Inoffensive and great for warm weather.
