Flawless elegance
Heartless Helen is my fragrance for the big entrance. If I have really dressed up and would like to underline with a fragrance that I appear here today, now, in my very best version. I feel the fragrance like a particularly elegant piece of jewellery, which belongs to the magical days of perfect self-confidence. The clacking of the high heels, the swinging of Marlene from heavy crêpe de Chile, the silky texture of the make-up - this is a feeling only women know (which probably applies to the individual details as well). But I don't mean those days when you want to achieve something, when you want to be tough - I wouldn't wear Heartless Helen for that, and that's why I don't think the portrait Penhaligon's has created is very appropriate. Because such a dominant tuberose fragrance could be counterproductive if you want to master a challenge on the job. After all, not everyone likes this extremely intense night bloom. Instead, Heartless Helen is a fragrance for elegant celebrations, for a Christmas that is celebrated in evening dress, for a New Year's Eve ball or other dazzling event. It is a festive scent (note: not a festive scent, not a party scent! Far too elegant for a bottle of beer in your hand :-). Tuberose is basically the scent that separates the spirits. Here it is presented in an extremely pleasant interpretation: a little flatter than usual, which does not diminish the quality, but increases it. The slight freshness at the beginning, clearly noticeable, and the soft, creamy bed in which the white flower nestles, are a very, very fine support for the tuberose. They underline their enormous power, but at the same time gently reduce it. It's a very modern kind of tuberose that has none of the old-fashioned, untamed scents that were thought no perfumer could match the power of this flower. In Heartless Helen there is a casual balance that integrates the tuberose as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Modern self-confidence is in this fragrance, and the chic bottle, slightly crazy and strange, does the rest

Not a standard tuberose
Heartless Helen is all about animalic tuberose. Shoot me on spot but I do recongize Carnal Flower inspired background in here. Scent pyramid indicates only three ingredients but it is way more than that. I sense some marshmallows, sandalwood, soft oud accord, animalistic dirty musk, and of course mandarin blossom and tuberose. Jasmine blossom is playing little peek-a-boo too

I love that this fragrance is so soft and creamy. If feels like a furry, fuzzy cloud around you but at the same time it has claws. At some moments tuberose is very carnal and the moment later it is soft and luscious again. It is not the most blasting tuberose out there is but pretty damn good one. Uniqueness of it is in the dry-down and most people judge their scents by the top notes. Just wait and see, who knows, maybe you will fall in love with it as much as I do.

Strong creamy tuberose
I absolutely love this fragrance. Did not know how much I loved tuberose before trying this. Lovely strong floral opening with creamy sandalwood base note. Personally the mandarin orange is almost absent and this fragrance is definitely much more floral than fruity. This fragrance also leans more feminine but really anyone could wear it. A elegant scent, suitable for special occasions. I also find it quite similar to Soleil Blanc from tom Ford but the tuberose is more prominent.

I'm sure I don't need to say more about the design of the portraits from Penhaligon, they are gorgeous. I wish I liked more fragrances from their portrait line but this is the only one I find buy worthy.

I'm the wrong crowd for this..
Second to last of all the more feminine scents in the set. I know Constance is going to be more up my alley, so I have a "let's get Helen out of the way" approach.
Helen is a white floral and tuberose scent, so my hopes aren't high.

Oh yeah, this is not me at all... I am dreading trying this on my skin! Peppery tuberose, two of my usual dislikes. The more it dries down on paper, the worse it gets - it is creeping close to smelling like sticking your nose into a pepper grinder with freshly ground pepper. Fun fact, I loved pepper as a kid and put it on everything (almost put it on my marmalade), but one day I've had enough and I have hated pepper in food ever since. This is absolutely repulsive to me.

I am honestly dreading putting this on skin, and you what? Life's too short. I'm not gonna do it.

Feminine elegance
A great fragrance in a very nice bottle. I like it like all of them. Sturdy golden lid that fits tightly on the bottle. Good spray head.

Helen starts somewhat fresh and crisp due to the mandarin and some pepper. So there is also a hint of spice.

It doesn't take long before tuberose and jasmine are added and it goes in a floral-powdery direction. Very pleasant and certainly not overpowering.

Cashmeran and woods to finish. The fragrance remains classy in pleasant for me powdery floral somewhat creamy, yes. Very feminine indeed.

Sillage and longevity could be increased.

In its short lifespan, this straightforward tuberose goes through clean, fresh and creamy phases. Only to end in cashmeran fuzziness
