My cuddly monsieur
So this is the second review of fragrances I've had in my collection for a long time, but never wrote anything about. Yes out of reverence for them, because they touched me so.
This one is also my first fragrance I ever bought from Penhaligon's.
My fragrance journey with Penhaligon's began when I first visited my girlfriend in London. I arrived at her place only towards evening and we still decided to walk around Picadilly Circus/Soho for a bit. As luck would have it, we also walked across Regent Street, which was beautifully lit up for Christmas. Across the street, I saw a shop that caught my attention because it had such beautifully decorated windows. We took a closer look at the shop and sniffed, through the closed shop door, various fine fragrances.
There we would have to absolutely times there, if it had opened...we decided.
For the next day was planned to go to Jo Malone to sniff a few fragrances that are in Germany DC and only in the flagship store on Regent Street to have. (The store of the previous evening had slipped in the memory again quite far to the back)
But as luck would have it, we walked out of the Jo Malone store further to the left up the street until we suddenly smelled a beautiful scent. I said to my friend, "Do you smell that? What is that?" and my friend "Yes it is beautiful and appealing"
We turned around and saw: the shop from the night before! And it was now open. So we went straight inside. The scent practically drew us in. We met a wonderfully good-humored salesman, who took us on the most beautiful Penhaligon's fragrance stories and explained them so wonderfully vividly that we stayed there for 1 hour and sniffed and listened as if spellbound. But one of these many had conquered my ♡. And that was the dear and cuddly Monsieur Beauregard.
(Fun fact: I used to, and still do, love to cuddle with our chickens or roosters)
Since cuddly men have it very easy with me, he had to come with me, there was no way around it. He was no longer out of my head. And so began a great love story with Penhaligon's.

To the fragrance:
He triggers in me the feeling of security and well-being. I wear it mostly on rainy days, when I need the comfort the most. Upon spraying it on, the wonderful powdery scent of iris immediately unfolds accompanied by the freshness of pink pepper. Benzoin joins in and soothes my soul. My head switches off. As it progresses, sandalwood joins in and it feels like I'm wrapping myself in a big cashmere scarf. In the base, tonka bean rounds everything out beautifully. It takes on a slight sweetness.... i notice this scent very well throughout the day. Unisex!

He is just a soul comforter and I am so glad we found each other.
The fragrance that led us to Penhaligon's was Halfeti, by the way, which I still don't own. Why I actually do not know myself exactly. But one should always keep a few beauties in the backhand.
Whoever has read this far: Thanks for reading my reviews!
Kiss goes out!
See you soon

Very helpful Review 11
The chicken must be slaughtered.
When I test the fragrance lines of different perfume houses, a very special phenomenon always runs through all those test phases. I like the first fragrance very much, the second one is no different and the third one doesn't knock me off my feet or even disappoints me. I experienced this for example with Louis Vuitton. "Orage" is simply great, "Sur la Route" is absolutely brilliant and then came "L'Immensité".

From Penhaligon's I already took "The Tragedy of Lord George" under my nose - probably the most famous fragrance from this brand at the moment. I liked it very much.
Furthermore I tested "Much Ado About the Duke", which is a not uninteresting rose scent, for which I even got a compliment from my perfume-sensitive dear mum. Maybe I should mark this day on my calendar. By the way, there will be a comment on this rose scent sometime in the future.

Well, and then there's "Monsieur Beauregard" ... a very unpleasant fellow
We start with a proper portion of lemon and a minimal pinch of pepper - a not uninteresting start, although it was already with the positive, because from now on it goes downhill. I will now have to "slaughter" the chicken in the descriptive sense. Here I just can't help it.

Immediately after the interesting start the iris sets in. It is very scratchy and reminds of a bathroom contaminated by hairspray. Such an iris is actually no problem for me, as I already know this fragrance quite well and therefore know that it catches quickly, becomes tamer and sometimes creamier, or is contrasted by other fragrances. Here, however, it is completely different.
The scratchy, hair spray-like iris, which slowly begins to dissolve my nasal mucous membranes, is now given the full roar of plastic cinnamon. I'm beginning to wonder what they've done with my favourite scents - cinnamon and iris. You wait in vain for sandalwood, which has a little regulating effect here. While sandalwood can appear quite creamy and minimally sweet, the only thing that remains with this scent composition is a strange dry-woody undertone, which I would not associate with sandalwood. Again, it just smells funny, unpleasant, as if intended and not skilfully and iris and cinnamon are already plastic-chemical, so is this wood. More and more the question arises to me, which scent philosophy is actually pursued here.

Regarding the sandalwood, I just wrote that it is quite capable of rounding off fragrances with a subtle sweetness. Now ... what that wood lacks in sweetness here is added by the tonka bean in a multiple measure. The scratchy hairspray plastic cinnamon-iris is now combined with a sticky sweetness, as if syrup was still running down the walls of the polluted bathroom, without being able to identify the exact type of syrup due to the exuberant sweetness. And just as syrup is sticky, and sticky in a special way, so is this fragrance composition, which sinks its sticky anchor into the skin and is also particularly communicative towards the environment. There is nothing discreet and elegant here, unlike the two "Penhaligon's" I tested before. With that the chicken would be slaughtered and the thing eaten.

...Hola Monsieur...

I've known this brand a long time. Whether or not I like her is another question. There are a few that I think are great, but most of them aren't.
Pro:
-Cute flacons
- dreamlike scents, like Artemisia, Opus 1870 or the lily of the valley scent par excellence, Lily of the Valley/really very noble.
-the history of this house - just an institution.
Contra:
- Price, Sillage, durability!

What use is an expensive scent to me if I have to carry the Pulle all day long in order to fertilize it? That sucks.
Perfume or no perfume. I'm not interested. What helps if it says perfume on it and I have a shelf life of cologne? Exactly-nothing!!! And that should be said quietly times more often .
In my opinion, good fragrances are also characterized by an excellent sillage, paired with durability.
Here it is important that a good mediocrity is found.
This one's the first one to bring it to me. Which they all cut off in this collection. The house must have learned a lesson.
To the fragrance: It is not an unbelievable reinterpretation, so no wow effect when spraying on.
But he's got something. He's seductive, sexy. Yeah, sweet and a little powdery but for me it's for the man. A lot of people say unisex, please, everyone likes it the way they like it. I'm sticking with it, though. MANN.
It starts with a fine lemon and pepper and a certain sweetness, which clearly emanates from the iris and where in the course a little bit of cinnamon might slip through.
I even tend to use some cedar wood although it is not listed. Different facets of light woods join each other. Something difficult to commit.
Occasion: evening family celebration or Christmas party in a beautiful hotel or restaurant with history.
Dress: fine jeans, nice shirt with jacket, no tie, fine lace-up shoe. Shirt not quite closed:-). There's such a mess:-). And no!!! NO pants that stop above the ankle:-).
Well, Christmas is near. Tests:-)

The beautiful Frenchman in the English House of Nobility
I am fascinated by the family history that Penhaligon´s tells with the portrait series. As in the fable with animals or as one would say today: with avatars to whom certain characters are assigned, Penhaligon's tells a family saga. The scent composition follows the character quite comprehensibly. I hope it wasn't the other way around, that would cloud my picture of the saga.
Monsieur Beauregard does not immediately fit into the English classics, expressed by the scents of Lord George and the Duke, about whom there is some noise or rumors. The Monsieur brings something fresh to start with - a citric yet sunny-warm scent of the southern French coast.
A closer look at the figure reveals its charm, attractiveness and empathy. More tender, almost vulnerable. Monsieur Beauregard is not daredevil, but he is well aware of his charms.
The sweetness in the course goes almost in an androgynous direction. But carried by the right man with the necessary charisma, quite an eye-catcher, or better Hingercher

Winter fragrance without another equivalent
I tested this perfume through a miniature.

I look for rare perfumes with unusual smells that I like. regarding mr beauregard i decided to adopt it.

it is a sweet and peppery smoky masculine scent perfect for fall or winter. despite ingredients close to oajan pdm the smell is very different. the smoky side is totally different from the smoky ebony flavor of tf.

However, I advise you not to make a blind purchase on this perfume because it is quite difficult to obtain it.

hoping that my opinion will have been useful to you
