Hello gentle reader (no, I'm not Lady Whistleblower - for all Netflixfans;-)),
while browsing on Parfumo I became aware of the beautiful pictures of @Parfümlein. I particularly liked the mood in the pictures. Then I realized that the pictured animal head is yes the lid of the bottle. What kind of perfume is that? Aha - Changing Constance! There's no such thing, it's got my name on it. I'll just have to test it. A look at the fragrance pyramid: Salted caramel - yes there simma thereby, that will prieehiemaaa!
No sooner said than done, immediately ordered sample and awaited with high voltage to snatch it directly from the postman (yes, I was even faster than my dog).
But then, I did not dare to spray at all, turned the tester always just in my hand. What if I do not like it? Carefully I sniffed the little spray button - mmh ok kind of spicy. I was a bit afraid that the cardamom comes to me funny, because in the kitchen I do not like the stuff at all.
What is it, what are you here for, after all, to test and try. So go on up now with the precious liquid. Yaaahhhhh, it's lovely - sweet, spicy, unusual. I love it!
Flowing, caramel settles on my skin like liquid gold. Balsamic reigns the four spice allspice and lets pepper, cinnamon , nutmeg and clove dance. Everything lies down on soft cashmere. Now and then a touch of salt adds a note to not get boring and the cardamom together with the allspice makes Constance a delicious gingerbread speciality.
In the drydown all the way you against the skin I detect a chocolate note or is that just the chocolate withdrawal for weeks...
I recognize myself in it. Sometimes I peek out, out of my gingerbread house and have everyone eating at me. Then I'm back to being cuddly as cashmere and caring and healing as caramel. Pepper in my butt, who doesn't have that. Sometimes I do things that are definitely not always good for me. Constance has your tobacco. Even though I gave up smoking many years ago, I find a soft tobacco scent quite pleasant.
My pre-commenter DonJuanDeCat has already extensively discussed the brand, the story behind the fragrance and the bottle. To this I can only add something: The bottle is a real hand-flatterer, it is very good in the hand, is heavy and valuable. The lid is also heavy of very good quality. The perfume color is perfectly chosen. But the best, really people, is the spray head. As if an angel wraps you in heavenly molecules.
Yeah right, the longevity and sillage leave a lot to be desired. He holds on me only about 5 hours.
Why I wanted to have this Gouriental or do they say Gourmontal (Gourmand and Oriental) anyway? I love this fragrance and find it special. It already has my name on it so ...My husband loves this fragrance and that means what, most fragrances he finds just ok. I like the story behind the scent, think the bottle is great. By the not so strong sillage I can wear the fragrance in everyday life and office, I like that then especially well and I just spray after a few hours again to the end of work or put on another fragrance;-).
Also, I was lucky, my dear husband gave it to me...he did a good online deal. I'm going to go out on a limb and say my fall/winter signature and I would probably repurchase it again.
If you prefer it stronger, right on the 12 and with more smoke, strong sillage and durability, you might want to try Replica by the Fireplace. Here, too, sugary notes are combined with spices and smoke. However, rather a concept fragrance - still super interesting.
Who likes the fragrance direction in general and likes to have something fruity with it - the can Lira by Xerjoff under the nose.
No fragrance twins but still in the same direction.
