This packaging, this bottle and last but not least this fragrance...
... call for an anecdote.

Admittedly, I don't have an appropriate one yet, as I have yet to experience my fragrance adventure with this perfume.
However, I am happy to share my first impressions.
I am very glad that I simply tested this fragrance at the perfumery retailer of my choice BEFORE I looked at the fragrance pyramid.
There is actually a lot to be said against my modest understanding of the nose that this experience
flattering to my nose.
According to the fragrance pyramid in the top note citrus fruits, in the past these fragrances were a guarantee that they would turn into toilet spray lemon on my skin. But then my wife provided the decisive clue. Citrus is NOT the same as lemon and my olfactory quandary was cleared up and I was able to enjoy the plum and the green notes.

In the heart I mainly perceive the lavender in combination with the cumin/cinnamon mixture; smells wonderful, I can't go into it any further because not much else happens here.

Off to the base and in the base smells the power or something like that.
What comes to mind about the notes here:
Four times love and once oh my... Oud
My first real oud experience was (unfortunately) with the Elevated Oud by Zara (I am almost ashamed to mention this name in this review) and to
keep this tragic story short it was a terribly disgusting experience.

But not so with this prestige perfume where the name says it all. Trade Routes, Halfeti Leather, Penhaligon's and, above all, the story of its origins in what was then the port of the world.
When reading this description of the past, I found myself nodding in affirmation and feeling as if the fragrance was telling me the story straight from my nose to my brain An experience that I have never had with any other fragrance. In conclusion, however, I am a great friend of this type of fragrance.

Blind buy candidate? No, absolutely not (to be honest, it's not a perfume), but if you can identify with the fragrance notes in any way, it's at least worth a test!

Neither leather nor nutmeg
... for me, the absolute highlight of this fragrance is the plum. The fragrance opens oriental-spicy and with the leatheriness already established by name. So far, so good - so arbitrary and already smelled several times. Not a candidate for purchase. Elegant, masculine - an oriental for the English landed gentry.
But there is something else, in the background and fortunately becoming more and more present for me in the drydown - a pleasant and sweet plum. For me, just the right extra that this fragrance needs to become a complex masterpiece.
Actually, I had almost finished with the fragrance as "solid, but nothing more", but as the day went on, this fragrance became more and more pleasant and finally a candidate for purchase. Definitely.
Ideal for the Christmas season, yet timeless and ultimately unisex. From the stately lord in the country house under the Christmas tree to the young woman strolling through a souk in the Middle East.
Sillage and performance are top.

The racer
On Friday finally arrived from the Wintersale our Radcliff from UK here, and at a fabulous price. And sample there was also, I wanted to test necessarily Halfeti Leather.
I love the first Halfeti very much, I do not wear it often, this is not a day fragrance that always goes - I find it already very special.

Halfeti Leather so.
Let's put ourselves in year between 1920 and 1930. A big international car race is coming up. At that time, the drivers still have so ne kind of leather hood instead of helmets worn, mostly leather jackets, coarse pants and of course had the shoes on. All drivers had to line up, there was no ranking like today, the drivers ran to the cars. Whoever sat and started first was already in a good position for a winning race.
Of course Penhaligon's Halfeti Leather was at the start, the leather seats were specially treated again to ensure a good fit, the wooden fittings were set in and polished to a high shine. Halfeti Leather went to the start, and while the station announcer is still shouting full of emotion into the microphone who all is already driving the first lap, Halfeti Leather has already secured a good place. The fresh citrus note in the race car forms a good prelude, the plum goes down a bit, but the top note can not hold long because in the airstream already the opulent spicy heart note claims the space for itself.
Penhaligon's Leather drives the race of his life, he passes Eau de riot, leaves Eau de top dog behind and drives lap after lap. Oud comes along and the woods, the other drivers have to make a pit stop to refuel or change the tires, but undeterred H.L. (abbreviated because speakers never have that much time) pulls his laps. It is already rumored that he has another fuel in the tank, because he drives unbraked even in curves daringly to the top. And there he stays, the voice of the announcer almost rolls over when he declares H.L. as the winner. The other drivers leave the track, the audience is full of euphoria to have witnessed such an experience, the stands are dismantled, more and more people leave the area while H.L. is still driving, and he drives the race of his life. For 18 hours. Well, then the pace was slowed down, the rider was no longer riding at full speed because he was alone on the track. After 20 hours, finally, the race was forcibly ended, the car driven to its capacity zuckelt with quiet töff töff sounds in the shower where it was put an end - not to my chagrin as I'm sorry to say.

The fragrance has not quite been able to win me over. He acts on my skin too tight, but compared to the normal Halfeti which is quite unisex I would not wear Halfeti as a woman. For me, Halfeti Leather doesn't have that special something that blossoms so enchantingly on the skin with the normal Halfeti. Of course: you do not want a rose, but the DNA of Halfeti you are certainly well served with H.L. although the leather note runs only subliminally in the fragrance, sometimes even beaten down by the opulence and density.
I find it already difficult to filter out at Halfeti fragrance notes, but at H.L. I have done me but extremely difficult, everything seems already quite well placed - but makes no great fragrance development through. So at least not on my skin. There's spice, wood and oud, with subtle nuances of course, but this one does its thing. Not my halfeti. The sillage is really unpredictably strong at first. I had a spritz on my neck, one on my wrists and the scent has abnormal longevity. When I had to follow a human need at night, Halfeti was still quite noticeable and that was after 12 hours. And it even waited for me (according to my imagination) in the bedroom! The longevity had some annoyance potential which I'm sure was due to the fact that I didn't get to experience much scent development. Everything is somehow immediately there, complex, dense, and very powerful.
In my opinion, a very masculine fragrance.
Not my fragrance, very well done, a superior quality, but I'll stick with the regular Halfeti.

Halfeti Leather, the miracle of endurance
I would say a must for every halfeti lover and for those who like to smell leather on their clothes for days on end I would describe Halfeti Leather as the dark and bitter equivalent of Halfeti

The best from all the Halfetis, smells manly, modern and oriental. Leather is not strong and the plum is awesome. Full bottle will follow.

Looks a lot like the Plum japonais (Tom Ford) I had. Fruity/woody/smoke.
Good perfume.

Similar to Chopard Black Incense Malaki. Halfeti Leather has a more citrusy and leathery opening and better longevity.

A dark spicy woody leathery plum. Very dressy and sophisticated, kind of reminds me of CDG Floriental. Great for an older gentleman.
