A powdery take on the Pink Sugar genre
I expected a sweet rose, but this is more of a cotton candy scent a la Pink Sugar. It's much softer and more refined than PS though and doesn't have the burned licorice note. Instead it's more musky and powdery. I think it's actually even closer to Al-Rehab Soft than PS, but PS might be the better reference because it's so widely known.
Rose au Sucre starts out with vanilla, raspberry, a hint of citrus and a lot of sugar. Then the musk comes out and makes the scent a little more perfumey instead. It's a classic, clean white musk that feels very innocent and fluffy. Later in the final drydown the rose finally becomes more noticeable. At this stage the scent gets a lovely creamy to powdery texture and feels a little less gourmand and more cosmetic-like and floral (while still sugary sweet), which is closer to what I expected at first.
This is a very cute, girly and sweet scent. It definitely smells like the color pink. It's one of my favorites from this category, the powdery drydown with rose and violet is a nice twist. I don't need it because I already have Soft, but if I needed a replacement, I would definitely consider this.
