The long wait for the "one"....

For a long time I was looking for my vanilla fragrance, the one fragrance that can finally convince me that vanilla as the main actor in fragrances, can be something great after all. Often I felt vanilla fragrances as boring, unspectacular, too pleasing. For a long time I was looking for vanilla, my vanilla, and at some point I accepted that vanilla fragrances just don't suit me. Until I met Vanitas... completely haphazardly I walked around in Breuninger, actually looking for sunglasses, there I threw on the way to the sunglasses department a look in the perfume department... "You know all the fragrances anyway, you don't need to test anything", I said to myself and tried to keep myself from making any expensive impulse purchases (which are rare, but still happen from time to time when I fall in love at first smell). So I walked on, still turned around again with a view of the beautiful bottles and then could not help but "just stop by". So I looked around, but then discovered no niche fragrance that I did not already know and was just about to leave when my eyes fell on the bottles of Profumum Roma ... I did not know the house until now and decided to dare a test. My first choice immediately fell on Vanitas, the yellow color in the bottle appealed to me, so I asked the saleswoman to spray it on me... and it was immediately about me. I was in fragrance heaven. A spray on the wrist and I found myself transported to the most beautiful place in the world... A feeling of warmth & security surrounded me that made me forget all the evil of this world for a few minutes... I smelled the most beautiful form of vanilla, which I had ever encountered with a woody-resinous subnote and a creaminess, which gave me the feeling of a long-awaited embrace... How should I leave the store without taking the most beautiful fragrance, which I was allowed to get to know for what felt like eternity...

So Vanitas became a part of my fragrance collection and is still one of my absolute favorite scents. Vanitas I wear to work, on dates, when celebrating, when I meet friends or family. In fact, almost always. I couldn't imagine a fragrance life without Vanitas anymore. The durability and sillage of the scent are out of this world! You definitely stand out, that should be noted, but which is very convenient for me as a fan of loud fragrances ;-).

For me, Vanitas is the vanilla goddess bad! Nothing compares to this high-quality vanilla fragrance. Vanitas is a Holy Grail for me and I'm happy every time like a toddler when I spray me the fragrance! :-)

For me, using a perfume is the baroque expression of Carpe Diem. Use the day. Of course, the perfume fades. Let it last ten hours. This is still only a short span of our lives. A great short span. Use the day. Use vanitas. Reward yourself with scents.

Vanitas is a flowery resinous woody vanilla reward. The projection is rather strong and the durability is certainly good. It's probably more women's stuff. Family tester M couldn't get anything out of him. You can wear it in winter, in the evening and for going out and leisure. At work there could be complaints or as Gryphius would say, "Now happiness shines sun, soon thunders with complaints." If Poetry-Slam is a sport, you can also wear vanitas to sport.

In any case, I am also quite vain and with vanitas even vain joy.

Hmmm... What smells like pie?

Vanitas was my first niche fragrance and therefore has a high sentimental value for me. Sillage and durability are top and the fragrance has simply addictive. If you do not want to stand out, you should not necessarily wear Vanitas, because people have various associations and the fragrance can be room-filling. Comparisons like 'cake', 'vanilla' (obviously) and even 'tobacco' once come up. I've been called a 'vanilla woman' when going out. For a while, the extreme sillage of the scent almost bothered me, which is why I didn't buy Vanitas again at first. But after eternal back-and-forth trying we have approached each other again.
Vanitas fits perfectly for me in the cold season, wraps me with its warmth, serves me sweet cookies, plus warm tea and puts a blanket around my shoulders. It gives me a feeling of security (unlike most people höhö). The name might only fit at second glance. The transience resonates subliminally in the form of myrrh, which was used for embalming. The nothingness and lightness of being is brought about by the light vanilla. It is a linear fragrance, I perceive all the notes at the same time, but does not bother me.
Vanitas smells like expensive vanilla, the sweetness on point. In case you're interested: Got a lot of compliments from men!

Christmas baking with cough syrup

A beautiful vanilla... but will it move in with me?

I am currently testing a different, often new fragrance every day.
As my working day always starts early in the morning, I can assess the durability of new fragrances better than at the weekend.
This week it was Vanitas' turn, on the recommendation of a very likeable influencer whose tips have rarely been a flop.
She describes a beautiful vanilla that is sweet, but not one-sidedly sweet.
As I didn't want to make a blind purchase, I ordered a bottle of Vanitas in Sweden, among other things.
Yesterday morning I sprayed the fragrance on for the first time... at 6:20 in the morning.
Oh my... the first spray told me that Vanitas is not an office fragrance and that I would have been better off testing it at the weekend.
Would have, would have... Bicycle chain, it was too late for that now. So off into the car... During the 20-minute drive, I had time to think about what the not-so-pleasant top note reminded me of. There was a slightly artificial sweetness, not sugary, not fruity, more like sweetener... i couldn't figure it out. On the way from the parking lot to the car, the potency of the fragrance was already apparent. The vanilla surrounded me, but not unpleasantly. Due to the artificial sweetness, I didn't feel the need to keep sniffing my wrist, but I did anyway. After all, I wanted to know whether the fragrance would change in a less artificial direction. After about 1 hour, it did indeed develop in the direction of a Christmas bakery with vanilla sugar, dusty powdered sugar and baking aroma.
The more the day progressed, the more pleasant Vanitas became. He was always present, but not intrusive, at least no one complained.
After about 3 hours, Vanitas no longer changed on me, this now myrrhic vanilla remained... until closing time.
A colleague coughed in the neighboring office... and suddenly I knew what the top note reminded me of. Cough syrup, that thick pink cough syrup from my childhood. The artificial sweetness, you had to go through it if you wanted to get better.
And it's the same with me and Vanitas. I have to endure the top note if I want to go into the Christmas bakery.
You should definitely try Vanitas, because you get a very unusual and beautiful vanilla fragrance
It won't be moving in with me for the time being, but it will remain on my list. Maybe one day... or soon?

I stumbled across this wonderful fragrance on Instagram. I then went to the nearest niche perfumery and tested the Vanitas by Profumum Roma.
I put a spray on my hand and what can I say, I couldn't do anything else all day but smell the surface of my hand. So I had to get a bottle! The fragrance has a high fragrance oil concentration and lasts a good 12 hours on my skin. The fragrance is vanilla-like, but at the same time fresh and surprising due to the orange blossom. An absolute recommendation. This fragrance will stay with me for the rest of my life.

Sweet vanilla with a spritz of bitter citrus that quickly turns syrupy. Artificial raspberry/cherry/strawberry-ish. Sickly-sweet.

Reminds initially of vanilla caramel with a slightly alcoholic syrup filling. Later, quite interesting tart note joins.
