"Lily of the Valley Day" in the countryside
That in France the 1st of May is also called "Lily of the Valley" day is surely known.
So there the lilies of the valley ring in the spring (and flush many a euro into the coffers of perfumeries: be it!).
Who does not long for it, this spring?
At last the dirty grey is gone, everything is green; but still fresh and innocent, neither worn out, nor overgrown: virginal even!
The small, white bell with its typical scent appears after a few warm, sunny days; although it usually lives somewhat hidden, it likes light and warmth very much Thus it settles with its large family gladly at places, from which they have the overview and place for the spread of the clan.
A lily of the valley rarely comes alone!
Even before Christian Dior made this small, sometimes a bit austere or decaying smelling flower "presentable", it was discovered for perfumes.
In almost every classic Chypreduft it can be found; surrounded by the "very big" it stretches the panicle-head and powert happily with!
Small, white and fragrant it is, but still dominates many a noble fragrance; although it should only play along.
Do not underestimate the small and white!
The brand "Provence & Nature" has left with "Muguet", his lily of the valley scent, completely in nature.
Here the little bell may be completely with itself; it also needs no colorful wreaths or playmates.
This lily of the valley proves that - small as it is - it can easily delight on its own.
Which it does!
Not for hours, of course; but spring, too, is usually not yet an all-day guest; it usually appears only for a visit: chats and laughs a little, gives hope, and then disappears again, to be back cheerfully the next day.
And so this morning, full of smiling cheerfulness, "Muguet" invites us to "Lily of the Valley" Day and brings a little bit of the magic of Provence right along with him.
And not only the view out of the window makes me welcome him!
