An obituary...
This fragrance is truly a gift. It is sensual, enchanting and always makes you think of those particularly beautiful moments. It's a shame that I used it up so quickly a few years ago when I had it. Because today it is unfortunately nowhere to be found. Here on Parfumo, it seems to have a shadowy existence. Then I'll just introduce him to you, because he doesn't even have a comment
I can't remember how I got the sample. Probably some kind of addition to an exchange of samples with like-minded people, as so often. With poison, a single test was enough and I knew immediately that I wanted it. What's that smell? Is it JPG classic? Yes, there is a certain resemblance. But poison smells like a classic that's been on your skin for at least two hours. We are immediately at a velvety, delicate vanilla with a fabric softener undertone. The floral notes are there, but they stay in the background, so unlike Classique, the fragrance doesn't have a floral feel for the first time. And that's what makes it special. But wait, stop. Why do we have vanilla here? Run Fragrance Pyramid doesn't have one. Only orchid I can find here next to all the floral notes and ambergris and sandalwood in the base. I don't believe this. Poison is definitely a vanilla scent that never screams out "Hello, I'm a vanilla, vanilla, vanilla...", but it's still present. She cuddles up on her skin and sings along with the other base notes in rather quieter tones. Very fine!
Exactly, here we still have a difference to Classique: Gift is not a silent treader par excellence, but it is never too loud. It is always there and has its presence, but it is always in a pleasant setting. At an average dose, this fragrance is never too much. It keeps going from morning to night. It's perfect.
With the bottle, which is not only incredibly bulky but also damn heavy, you can easily beat someone to death. The outer packaging is also funny. A folding box which, once opened, is just as difficult to reassemble as the package insert of a medicine.
Unlike many very expensive scents of this brand, poison was affordable. I can't remember the exact price, but it must have been around 100 Euro or less for 50 or even 75 ml.
For me, poison was always the more beautiful classic with more refinement. I can't understand why this dream scent couldn't last. I would have bought it for sure, probably not just once.
