The smell of the beach from a distance
I live at about 6 miles away from the beach and this is exactly what I smell when, in summer, the beach is crowded with people enjoying their day there and when the wind comes from the sea.
I always think of Reminiscence as a house that makes scents for reminiscing and with Rem EDT they are spot on when it comes to that feeling of happiness that summer is finally there.
I don't feel like this is a perfume, it is a scent. It smells a bit salty, but at the same time a bit sweet (not cloying!) and dreamy; like the smell of the sea, mixed with scented sun tan lotions (though this does not smell like sun tan lotion at all, so don't expect anything like EL Sun Goddess or Guerlain Terracotta ).
I'm surprised to see the low ratings for sillage and longevity though! In fact, with this EDT, I'm very careful not to overspray because I find it very strong and long lasting. It is a very distinct scent and if you spray too much, you may feel 'locked in' and self conscious about what others may think and it will just loose it's beauty. I spray only a little on my chest and a little on my lower back.
That way, I get pleasant whiffs of it now and then and people ask me what I am wearing, telling me they love it.

I remember how I discovered this scent: I was purchasing something else, but had looked around in the shop and had sprayed a tiny little spray of Rem on my forearm. When I left the shop and unlocked my bike, I thought: "What is this gorgeous scent I'm smelling?!"
It obviously was Rem because I had not tried anything else and had no perfume on me that day and, though feeling a little embarassed, I went back to the shop and changed my initial purchase for Rem :-).

Salty vanilla ahead of its time
Rem is a 90s aquatic that fits in with the salted vanilla trend of the Iast few years. Its oceanic notes are not like the typical calone fragrances à la Cool Water that were popular back then, they feel more salty, ozonic and mineralic. Not entirely realistic, but far from the nose-burning synthetic freshness of ocean scented cleaning products and shower gels. I only know fenugreek from Indian food and I don't find it that prominent in here, but it adds a slightly spicy touch to the saltiness that makes the overall impression more natural.
Underneath the ocean breeze lie some soft, creamy florals. I can't say that I instantly recognize any of the listed floral notes, but jasmine and lilac make sense to me, while rose really isn't perceptible at all. The flowers are at their strongest in the opening.
Later the vanilla and tonka come out to add some warmth to the base, while the ozonic ocean notes never vanish.

Rem is a tad too sharp for my personal taste, but I do like it. I prefer the gorgeous Rem Coco though. Creamy coconut is the perfect addition to this.

Here he should comment on the epitome of the salty sun cream skin on the beach of Ste Maxim
(unfortunately I had written this commi under Rminissenvce de Reminisseence and this is where it belongs!!)
Sorry.
So now my dilettantish description of the newbie (I have 10 J Parfumabsinenz behind me)

Years ago in St. Maxim in the Reminissence Boutique "stumbled over it" and - although absolutely no fan of Gourmand , or vanilla fragrances I fell in love with shock at that time. So-- that's how summer smells on the Cote d'Azur. Spicy in the sense of sea air, pine trees, WITHOUT being cool water aquatic... no ...
Sun cream mixes itself purely funny that no neroli is called as Inci...
Warm sand, cream, sunny skin, salty sea air, Tarte Tropezienne, with a hint of hinterland under eucalyptus trees, pine forests and dry earth... Wonderful. I still wouldn't call it spicy. But a creamy aquate without wateriness and no real green notes... I find it extraordinary, this scent. I've never smelled anything like it.

An expensive body spray...
I really like Rem a lot: very refreshing and cool, but I have body sprays that last longer on my skin and cost much less, too. I think this scent would be very good in hot, humid, and tropical climates where you might want to keep in the refrigerator and spritz on several times a day. I pick up some coconut in this, but it could just be me since it's not listed in the notes.

Attractive for its turquoise bottle, it's a fresh and pleasant scent perfect in summer, but I find it too expensive for its weak sillage
