Loyal companion
Eau de Rochas was my first perfume. I got it from my boyfriend at the time and was immediately blown away. At that time I understood nothing about head, heart and base, about the interaction of the fragrance components or similar. But I instinctively felt that this little water in the noble flacon was something very special. It was summer and Eau de Rochas became my faithful companion
The years passed, other scents came and went and EdR was forgotten. Until I saw him again quite by chance at Müller's. Wistfully I sprayed him on and then he was allowed to go with me.

The citric-spicy notes in the attack are wonderfully fresh and clean. It's almost like having a glass of ice-cold gin and tonic with a juicy slice of lemon at 35°C. Afterwards, the fragrance becomes softer, more floral, beautifully rounded off by the flowers in the heart, with the fresh note remaining present with me all the time. For me, EdR is a brilliant combination of summer freshness and simple elegance.

The durability is quite OK for a summer scent. After 3-4 hours you have to refill. But this is not a problem, because the scent is never obtrusive.

As long as this fragrance is available on the market, it will have a place in my collection. So let's hope that it will remain with us and not be crushed, as is unfortunately already the case with many classics.

Morgentau has gold in his mouth
The men's pendant is one of my all-time summer favorites. What can the original, classic women's version, from which I got a bottle with a few residual drops "inherited", do? A lot, too.

"Eau de Rochas" is a lovely citrus scent with floral, light, transparent undertones. Absolutely unisex, I think. Especially with a green-mossy base that's ready to lay down. It looks more like a Guerlain ala "Eau de Guerlain" or "Eau de Coq", very soft, very easy to wear, very high quality. It is reminiscent of summer morning, slightly cool and yet already radiantly beautiful. A day you like to get up for, a day that gives you hope and where anything is possible. It looks as if classic colognes with a fine chypre have made a cool, timeless baby. Oak moss doesn't look prettier. Wonderful!

Flacon: haptically very valuable and generally quite pretty. I have a bulk bottle.
Sillage+durability: clear deficits here, after-spraying unavoidable, but is also due to the midsummer fragrance. 3 hours

Conclusion: a cooling summer rain with an icy heart and a mossy hairstyle - a classic for June to August!

Lime chutney and flower soap
In construction and overall impression very comparable to Annick Goutal's "Les Nuits d'Hadrien" (2003). Both are tart, slightly bitter citrus fragrances with a spicy heart and warm amber-musk-patchouli-sandalwood base. But there is one crucial difference: typical of its time, "Eau de Rochas" contains a floral aspect (rose, carnation, narcissus), while "Hadrian's Nights" - flowerless but with cumin and juniper - has a strong spicy focus. As a result, "Les Nuits d'Hadrien" is gourmand perfume through and through and can no longer be described as fresh or "cologne". Rather, this perfume comes across as deep, intimate and "bodily"; to some, a smell like the T-shirt of someone who has spent hours cooking Iranian stew with limes on a hot day; the citrus peel aspect sits in a dark, aromatic armpit, so to speak. "Eau de Rochas" isn't free of a certain gourmand character either - a sort of lime chutney note - but its spiciness is balanced by a subtle floral counterbalance. It's an easier-to-wear, Daytime-ready perfume - vividly acidic, slightly bitter, herbaceous, spicy, and retains a touch of floral-soapy, traditional chic through it all. It passes for formal, yet is full of fierceness

...parfait...
About the vintage version of EAU de ROCHAS:
I could wear this day after day, but it's too precious (a vintage!). It fits like a well-worn white shirt.
This is not for women only/for men only, not for summer or autumn nor winter only, but for every season.
I recognize myself in it, early days, teenage days, student days - today.
Maybe after years of sniffing and testing of other fragrances, the moment will come when all other scents will be washed away from my collection and only "Eau de Rochas" will prevail. The perfect EAU.

The Scent of Water
Imagine a clear stream of water bubbling over large smooth black pebbles, with lush green banks on either side, the grass and herbs trailing in the water. Now bottle it, and voila you have Eau de Rochas. This is a staple spritz for hot weather or feeling under the weather. Refreshing, uplifting and totally great!

Fresh citrus in its purest form, with floral nuances, on a warm and woody base. It is a very elegant combination.

Citrusy-aromatic, it 's quite similar to O de Lancome, but maybe more classic and unisex. A timeless refreshing cologne for the hottest days
