A real treasure
For my birthday, I decided to spoil myself. Like, really spoil. Probably, even some fragrance lovers like myself could call me crazy. I spent more than €200 on 7,5 ml Roja Amber Aoud Absolue Preciéux. Worth every cent, though.

Honestly, this is one of the most beautiful, mature, and refined scents ever. At least, from what I smelled, of course. I don't mean to overhype it, but I have to say that it is hard to think that such a great fragrance exists at all.

This is rose and oud perfume, with a juicy fig and the deepest, most sensual, and powerful amber. Wearing this perfume is a fragrant journey. Opens with a blast of citruses and then gets darker. One after another, layers unfold. Softly sweetened fig flirts with rose de Mai, and you can feel the spicy warmness of amber coming out and the reserved touch of aoud.

If you compare it to the EDP, the scent itself is very similar. However, the wearing experience is something else because it is in a very concentrated form. When spraying this one, it feels as if I am wrapping myself in some sort of luxurious cashmere. It is so soft and gentle, lends on the skin smoothly, and wearing this, feels almost like a royal ritual. And the performance – well, it is way stronger than the EDP. But it is not about the performance; it is about the feeling it gives.

A masterpiece of the art of fragrance
Although I have been a part of this wonderful community for quite some time, I have enjoyed the evolution of perfumes and fragrance enthusiasts from the background. Eventually, a friend had to give me a push to share my perfume experiences.

I didn't know exactly which perfume to start my commentary journey with. The fact that I'm starting this journey with a masterpiece as complex as AAAP is a statement. And at least as much of a statement is the fragrance itself.

With this exceptionally well composed fragrance, one shows presence. Through the very strong sillage you make yourself directly noticeable. However, this presence is not tainted by inferiority complexes. This fragrance has nothing to prove. He is simply so majestic that you can only bow.

The fragrance opens with an orchestra of light citrusy spicy accord, of an oud-amber-patchouli composition and joined by the floral components. Over time, the floral components emerge in the heart notes. After about two hours, the spicy flattens out and a slight sweetness from the sandalwood makes itself known, giving the scent a soft and very pleasant touch. Through all these phases, I always had a feeling of a very balanced composition, although in the beginning the fragrance notes were much stronger.

Very much joy to smell I have only in the Drydown, when the fragrance begins to soften. Exactly then shows the extremely pleasant for me oriental-floral facet.

A wonderful-majestic fragrance!

AAAP and the rest...
...can pack up. With AAAP, you decide on a statement. But never for any form of understatement. This scent polarizes. You need a lot of experience with perfume to give this fragrance the love it deserves.
He impresses with an absolutely solidly composed appearance. Where Roja tends to whisper in his complete works, he shows here for the first time a fragrance that is as loud as a Montale but does not have to show any loss of quality. Like Diaghilev, this fragrance demands the appropriate outfit. It does not have to be a chic suit, but a generally dark, not very playful outfit. Sporty and casual or casual dress spoils the stage for this fragrance.

It is heavy, brimming with opulence and its sillage resembles a dark, mysterious veil. In the opening he comes across as very animalistic and resinous and only slightly fruity. The 40 percent Extrait (perfume version) starts out worlds lighter and quieter with much more fig. The AAAP is more powerful, rosy, smoky and much more masculine. After 30 minutes, it levels off in the direction of the perfume, but still remains continuously louder and darker. The aoud has a high-quality effect and is never obtrusive or even too animalistic. The animalism is perfectly balanced and is perfectly surrounded by heavy dark fig. It is much louder than Diaghilev, much more pleasant in the base and above all much more durable than the other Rojas I know...Whoever is looking for a really perfectly composed aoud that meets all requirements should give it a chance. Buying blind is absolutely no risk. Not even at this price. This fragrance is so beautiful and of such high quality that you can hardly do anything wrong with it. Even the following day it still bursts with radiance.
The rose is one of the most beautiful I have smelled so far, the fig dances harmoniously with it and never seems monotonous. The whole Drydown is unmistakable and offers everything a real perfume connoisseur wants.

For me the best Roja after Chypre Extraordinare and Diaghilev.

If you don't buy it, you're missing out on something great
A dream!

Comparison Amber Aoud Absolue Précieux - Crystal and the dark version
In this article I would like to make a comparison between Amber Aoud Absolue Précieux (Extrait) - Amber Aoud Crystal (Parfum) - and the Amber Aoud dark version (Parfum).

Surely someone will ask himself from time to time, what is the difference and which one should be used in the end :-) At least I did at first...

After greenish research, many conversations with experts and several tests, I would like to tell you one thing in advance and get something out of it:
The Chrystal version is absolutely no less than the dark version!
Both are perfume versions!
The Chrystal Verison is neither weaker nor less durable!
The Chrystal version differs from the darker version exactly in the point of colour! The colour pigments were simply removed by means of complex procedures - and without affecting the fragrance!

The reason for the creation of a clear scent is - who can guess actually the stains on the clothes!
Aoud is dark by nature - and the older and riper the aoud is, the darker and more intense it is.

Since Roja uses only the highest quality raw materials, the aoud he uses is also very dark in the fragrances and leaves stains on light-coloured clothing!

Aoud fragrances are highly appreciated in Arab countries, much more so than here in Europe. Both women and men wear aoud. Since women in Arab countries wear mainly black or dark clothes, the dark version of Amber Aoud is very popular and widespread there.
The men mainly wear light or white clothing. So the desire for the beautiful Amber Aoud - without leaving any stains - was passed on to Roja - whereupon a process was actually developed to simply crystallize the dark pigments out of the dark luxury water - without scratching the quality of the fragrance! And tadaaaa --> that's Amber Aoud Crystal!

But to really convince myself of this theory, I of course took the 1:1 "practice" test :-))

On the left the Crystal and on the right the dark version of the Amber Aoud:
A little splash at a time is enough and I'm in seventh heaven.... *lukewarm*.... But now back to the test:

A sweet, slightly resinous aoudnote with strong amber notes sets the tone... f
a sprinkling of citrus leaves an enigmatic freshness... the lime is really to sniff, fantastic...
Soft flowers (mainly rose?) are mixed in, everything so finely tuned to each other grandiose.....
creamy sandalwood provides that fantastic woody softness that I like so much...
Spices follow... the saffron complements the ever-present oud so insanely well... it just all fits...
...and then later, an earthy, musty note flashes up... It must be patchouil and oakmoss... The fragrance is becoming more and more complex and multilayered, really high perfume art ...!

During the test I compared the left arm (Crystal) and the right arm (dark version) again and again and I could not see any difference for the best of my knowledge...!

So here is the confirmation from my side: the Crystal and the Dark Version of Amber Aoud really only differ in color, dot.
Of course everybody is free to express his opinion on this, I am really curious if you see it that way, dear friends of fragrance :-)

Very well, then follows the comparison to the Amber Aoud Absolue Précieux .
I tested with the Crystal (perfume) version on the left arm and the Absolue Précieux (Extrait) on the right arm:

In order not to explain the whole process again, I will only describe the difference between the Absolue Précieux and the previously mentioned fragrance process of the perfume version :)

The Absolue Précieux immediately begins with a more intense roar of aoud, powerful and even more powerful than the perfume version The oud does not only seem to me worlds more intense, but here also a bit more animalistic, powerful and engaging... the soft "piglet note" of the perfume, only stronger - but not smelling stubby, only stronger (some stronger)...
The concentration of the oils in the Absolue Précieux should be between 60-65%... According to a reliable source, it should be the highest concentration that is still "sprayable In the perfume the concentration is already between 40-45% - so it is already more than decent!
From the fragrance itself, the course of the Absolue Précieux is actually very similar to the perfume version... Individual notes are simply a little more perceptible . The aoud is madly beautiful, strong, but beautiful... it appears to be caramelizing and fusing with Amber... sweet... animalistic... strong.....
I perceive the flowers a little less strongly with the Absolue Précieux than with the perfume version, but the resinous and earthy parts come out a little more...

You can see the difference even on your arm... The perfume leaves a delicate film and then fizzles out within about 15-20 minutes...
Absolue Précieux leaves a good and slightly oily" film, which remains visible on the skin for a little longer...

While the perfume spends a good 8 hours with me, Absolue Précieux has a much longer breath...!
I can still perceive Absolue Précieux well the next morning - although there was a good shower in between... Even if it is then rather close, one can still recognize Absolue Précieux very well That's really terrific!
I would give the perfume a total score of 9.5
Absolue Précieux gets an even 10 from me - that must be love!

Then I hope that my contribution has helped those who have asked themselves the same questions as I did - and I am also happy about other insights and opinions :-)

Fragrant greetings
