Hello Merchant of Venice Dalmatian Sage is it you ?
The heading is the summary of my impression after about 20-30 minutes. L'oscar pour Homme was one of the Roja fragrances that really interested me a lot, but unfortunately I have to speak again of a disappointment. This time though not in the form of the fragrance is bad, but in the form of seriously is Roja Dove today times Dua? L'oscar pour Homme differs only for 10-15 minutes from Dalmatian Sage by a slightly different top note with grapefruit.

I can't describe L'oscar pour Homme somehow at all. The fragrance pyramid is not found at all in the fragrance. I smell here sage, citrus, vetiver and some leather ( the leather gives a little difference ). Unfortunately, I see a similarity of 85-90% to Dalmatian Sage in L'oscar pour Homme. L'oscar pour Homme also has the same evolution as Dalmatian Sage only, the Roja is a bit denser and deeper due to the higher oil content. It's just hard for me to describe a fragrance that deviates completely from the fragrance pyramid, especially because it makes it harder to identify individual notes. The fragrance pyramid helps me namely always a kind of red thread to have when I test a new fragrance.

I can really no one recommend L'oscar pour Homme to buy, at most, if someone is looking for a Dalmatian Sage with better performance, but to pay a 5 times higher Ml price the can buy L'oscar pour Homme of course, but with is here really the jaw dropped, because to pay for such a dupe 285€ is not okay for me.
The durability is with 9 hours but Roja typically good and also the silage is good with about an arm length. L'oscar pour Homme is only after a little over 8 hours skin.

Aroma Therapy
I associate this scent with the essential oils diffused into the air during massage therapy. It has tranquil aroma-therapy-like qualities. A touch of pungent sour-like citrus freshens the scent, especially in the opening, but it is quickly dominated by cistus (incense-like, resinous), a very warm bouquet of spicy-fresh florals, all of which are anchored by Roja's signature opulent woods. The scent can be described as citrusy, resinous, warm, spicy-fresh floral, smooth, herbal, earthy, and peppery.

Every Sinner has a future
The Hotel L'oscar London was lavishly restored and designed by star interior designer Jaques Garcia. With the opening in May 2018, London got another boutique hotel, in this case with a very close cooperation with Roja Parfums. The brand's scented candles can be found in each of the elaborately designed rooms, which celebrate the opulent style of the Baroque era. Velvet everywhere, leather, fine wood. On closer inspection, everything turns out to be a skilful interpretation of the Baroque of our time. Modern materials and quality, meet exuberant aesthetics that touch all the senses.

"Every Saint has a past, Every Sinner has a future."

The motto, the theme of the hotel so to speak, gives room for imagination. The building in Holborn was previously used as a church. So it's hardly surprising that the cooperation with Roja not only resulted in an exclusive fragrance, but one for each sex. Which of the two poles is now that of the Saint or the Sinners, I leave to you gladly (with suitable opportunity) to decide.

In terms of facilities, L'oscar pour homme is clearly a chypre. The (pink) grapefruit starts citric-sour and only minimally fruity. And yet very fresh. Above all, it is refreshing not to be presented with bergamot as an opener. Already at the beginning the floral chords are quite present, not to say almost a little "loud". After a few minutes everything is arranged very skilfully and yet it should be said that you should like (garden) carnations (smell). Just the described fizz at the beginning dominates them.

The mayflower (better known as lily of the valley) grinds the somewhat angular carnation and laces a fresh, sour, flowery bouquet with the grapefruit. After only a short time, resinous notes, very discreet, are used. Both the galbanum and the cistus rose contribute balsamic, slightly woody-smoky notes. Here they accentuate the described bouquet and give it depth. Something darker. Really beautiful.

The pepper (from the base) radiates selectively into the composition and here again and again gives an addition of spice, with a slight sharpness, which fits very well to the carnation. In the course of wearing, slowly green-herbal notes of moss and vetiver complement the wood base and round off the fragrance masculine in the direction of drydown.

L'oscar pour homme is for me a scent of the day, like most EDPs from Roja. It fits perfectly to the office or also in the beer garden. Performs well between 6-8 hours and is very good to dose using the sprayers. It leaves room in the evening to wear a different fragrance (depending on mood and occasion).

In spite of masculine tendencies, I would also attribute unisex potential to him if you like herb-floral chypre. Whether you're a sinner or a Saint, I'll leave you to it. They're both in that scent.

PS: The fragrance can only be purchased at the hotel itself (in London) or by email ([email protected]) for GBP 245 (+ shipping)
