Earth, wind and rain
Google Translate tells me this is named "a rainy island". Well that sort of makes sense. This does teleport you to a desert place. Chilly cold, rainy, windy, nowhere to hide, just you and this raw side of nature.
It is both the petrichor and violet that brings this cool and wet sensation. I can also pick out some patchouli and vetiver and there seems to be a lot going on in the background, but those earthy tones predominate.
Overall, I think McCall succeeded in creating this seemingly ethereal, meditative atmosphere. Where many 'meditative' type of scents tend to end up in the dark woods or in a faraway temple, Une Île Pluvieuse stays out in the open air during a rain shower. Sounds lovely and all, but hey.. I am Dutch. I have had too many of such moments while riding my bicycle and I promise you there is nothing meditative about it.
