More That Sports And Outdoor Activities
If you think that in the 2005s, the shape of the Aqva pour Homme Eau de Toilette bottle could be innovative, well, you are wrong. In fact, at the beginning of the new millennium, Sergio Tacchini launched two fragrances on the market with a round bottle that did not stand upright, similar to a squashed sphere, with a removable half-moon-shaped cap. In addition to being distinguished by its unusual shape, the perfume was also uncommon for the brand's characteristic sports genre. Although several sites classify this fragrance as Aromatic Fougère Crisp Citrus, I am not so keen on the fougère accord, but that remains my opinion.

O•Zone man is woody-citrus, and Tacchini's men, for their part, tend to associate fragrances with the idea of bracing freshness and energy, the worlds of sports and outdoor activities. Here we have something fresh but with a soapy and floral slant. I had it in 2000, and I thought they had abandoned it, perhaps too underrated, even though here it had an average grade of around 8. It didn't last long on the shelves. But when I saw it a few months ago on promotion at a perfume shop, I didn't miss it. Perhaps the perfume revives thanks to the partnership between Sergio Tacchini, EgonLab, and Desire Fragrances. I loved it when I wore it and always got compliments, and I still love it now. Don't let the name fool you; there is nothing ozonic here at any point in its development.

To begin, O•Zone Man starts with a plethora of citrus notes. It is difficult to distinguish the oils of the individual citrus fruits; they are well blended, and the bitterness of the grapefruit, the sourness of the lemon, and the semi-sweet of the tangerine blend together to create a brilliant citrus accord. Among this riot of peels, the green tea leaf paws, a very popular note at the time, just think of Green Tea Eau Parfumée, Aura for Men, and Bvlgari Black.

Floral and spicy accords take place after the initial tartness subsides. I always thought there was a rose, deceived by the powdery softness of the heart. And instead, I discover that there is only one white flower, that of jasmine, which marries perfectly with the green tea leaves, just like in a classic jasmine tea. The spicy accents of cardamom, subdued and devoid of balsamic tones, and those of the very sweet nutmeg follow. A background of green tea keeps the scent stable, dry, herbaceous, and never too flowery or nauseating. The dusty and powdery look is a king without that buttery vein of the iris.

In the dry-down, that clean, slightly soapy to salty reflection remains. The woody component comes from the dryness of cedar wood, the soapy one from a beautiful white musk, while ambergris and gentle vetiver provide the greenish and brackish facets. They are all hinted at, therefore, well blended without prevailing over each other and making everything too heavy. If you wear it in the morning, you will most likely still feel it on you and on your clothes in the evening, that feeling of freshness of freshly ironed clothes.

Its effervescence and lightness place it among the spring and summer fragrances, more suitable for days. It is not powerful; however, people nearby feel it very intensely. Both projection and longevity are average. It is perfect to wear with a shirt to work; delicate, intimate, and non-invasive. Also nice because there are no similar perfumes, therefore unique. If I really have to place it next to some scents I know, I would put it together with Eau de Iceberg 74 pour Homme or Time Uomo Eau de Toilette, for the delicacy they share.

I'm basing my impressions and reviews on a bottle I've owned since October 2022 (BC 07214602, PD 2016-04. Since they repeat the batch codes every 10 years, I surmise 2006-04 fits better).
