no Yennefer of Vengerberg
Anyone who has played Witcher 3 probably knows the chorus of Pricilla's ballad:
"In the morning you flee from my dreams
Bitter gooseberry, sweet lilac
In dreams I see raven curls
Your violet eyes wet with tears"
out of context, it loses its impact, but in the game I found the song very beautiful and heard it many times later.
Of course, that's why I immediately thought of the Yen sung about when I read about this fragrance. She is as far as I remember also the only character whose scent was described at all, and then also often, so gooseberries and lilacs seem to be inseparable from her.
What can I say, though, the scent smells so nothing like the Yennefer from my imagination. It's just too soft and cloying for my taste. It reminds me more of an innocent schoolgirl with pink flower clips in her hair than a powerful sorceress who commands chaos.
I also can't detect a distinct lilac note like in other scents like "Lilac Path". It seems to me as if one had caught a rather sweet gooseberry, which has turned out somewhat powdery, and the lilac does not leave so much room.
Who likes pure, somewhat sweet fragrances, but is well served here.
But it could also be that my skin chemistry plays me here once again a nasty trick. On a paper strip, the scent acts namely quite different. Much more floral, cooler, with an almost almond note. Clear and unpudirg. Much Yennifer-iger ;)
