The Sandalwood Symphony?
Ahoy there! Hey, I haven't greeted you like that yet! I should do that on a maritime scent! Today's scent has nothing to do with the lake or the sea, it is rather a sandalwood scent with patchouli, namely "Fleur de Santal" by Sinfonia di Note.

A brand that I don't know so well and frankly I'm testing a fragrance of for the first time.
Well, I don't have much to think about at first, except that I could mention that many people think that despite the name "Fleur" the fragrance shouldn't smell floral at all, but I'll see about that. It can only be all right with me, because I don't have to struggle with smelling out and identifying the individual, flowery scents under the most difficult conditions (as always due to a lack of botanical knowledge). I know, you all already know this from me, but I mention it often, in case one of you reads the comment and doesn't know me here yet and doesn't know how weird I'm actually on it :D

Anyway, I don't want to go on talking and lengthen the text unnecessarily, which I'm doing anyway anyway, but I'd rather get to the fragrance :)

The fragrance:
The scent smells of patchouli and then sandalwood. Although I'm not a very big Patchouli fan, I have to say that the interplay of these two scents is quite successful and the top note smells really good. It also has a spicy-sweetish background, which is caused by heavy flowers among other things, but as already mentioned I unfortunately cannot identify what I smell here.
It also smells of sandalwood (and woods in general) and patchouli later on (or even more than at the beginning), and the fragrance becomes quite spicy. I notice the flowery notes less and less, until I don't actually smell them anymore.
If one smells exactly, then one notices some later also a hardly perceptible Benzoeharz as well as pure, somewhat dark-sweet musk. These last two scents, however, always remain in the background, as the fragrance smells very spicy and woody until the end as mentioned above and the spicy is sometimes even quite exhausting.

The Sillage and the shelf life:
The Sillage is quite good, because it smells very intense and can be smelled very well even hours after spraying. But due to the quite spicy smell one should really pay attention here with the dosage, since the spicy could appear quite oppressive.
The shelf life is therefore also very long and endures the whole day or night.

The bottle:
The bottle is rectangular, transparent and thin. On the front you can see a white label with the name and brand of the fragrance, the lid is black and cylindrical. Everything is very simple and I think the bottle looks rather unspectacular.

So, Fleur der Santal is a fragrance that probably won't suit everyone's taste, as it sometimes smells a bit spicy and heavy and therefore looks quite exhausting. I don't really like it that much either, so I didn't really like the scent myself, but I think some might like it already, so I would recommend it for a test anyway.

The scent has not really become flowery (except for a short time at the beginning, and it could also be that only I felt that way), it smells very spicy and woody and smells like sandalwood, patchouli and musk. It is in any case a fragrance for autumn and winter, as it comes across quite heavy. He also looks quite mature. Suitable for the evening, e.g. for dinner or other social occasions. I wouldn't dose the fragrance very much, though, as I said, because in my opinion it's a spice bomb, so be careful! :)

There is actually nothing more to say about the fragrance. A test can be worthwhile for some, but in general it is not a must. My lower rating is of course only my opinion about the fragrance, because it got on my nerves in the middle part and especially from the base with the violent spices.

So, that's it again, now you all have one more knowledge of fragrance (which you will all forget tomorrow anyway! :D) and I wish you a nice evening as well as a nice weekend (and you will surely hear from me again on the weekend, you know that,... so see you then or see you soon :)

milky sweet
Skip the fleur. I don’t find anything floral here. Fleur de Santal is a noble effort to recreate the scent of sandlewood oil. I appreciate the attempt to give a breather to this overharvested beauty, but good intentions don’t necessarily lead to success.

I suspect a number of components were used to make this formula, each one ideally lending a specific quality to recreate the penetrating lushness of sandlewood. I could be entirely wrong on the actual ingredients, but here’s how it seems to me. Cedar for the feel of moist wood. Lactones and musks for a milky quality and rounded sweetness. Benzoin and vanilla to flesh it out and give some boozy voluptuousness. (Patchouli? I can’t quite tell.) Unfortunately these various elements lend more than the one attitude they were called upon for and the focus gets lost. Overall, FdS leans too heavily on the gentle creaminess and comes off as simply sweet rather than rich.
