Gorgeous but Weak
In terms of scent alone, this is one of the best Skylar releases, IMO. I think the notes and blending are very well-crafted.

It opens, on me, with cedar, citrus and sage. I really appreciate the herbal, earthy note the sage brings to the citrus. The sage softens the citrus, tempering the sourness without losing the brightness.

The floral notes play second fiddle to the cedar, and as background players, they are just perfect, the soft, green, LOTV, with the rich magnolia and sweet tiare. Still very unisex, IMO.

The drydown is almost perfection. The ever-present cedar becomes less prominent, as the amber, salt and musk become more intense. I really love the salty amber accord. It really rounds out the scent.

The longevity isn't great, lasting maybe 4 hours, and unfortunately, Pink Canyon does not project on me, nor does it have a sillage trail. My husband didn't notice the scent until he hugged me.

As much as I love this fragrance, the price point and poor performance will prevent me from purchasing.

Wood shavings/pellets
This is a cedar-dominant fragrance, but the cedar is very strange to my nose when mixed with grapefruit and salt.

Something about this smells like the wood shavings/pellets inside of a hamster dwelling: woody, stuffy, and animalic.

Unfortunately there wasn't really any grapefruit for me; maybe a tiny bit of "sweet", but no enough to balance out the dominance of the cedar.

Super glad I sampled this instead of buying a FB - not blind-buy friendly!

Missed opportunity
This had a lot of potential but then resolves into a plainly, obviously floral scent.
I expected something more woody and with more of a kick to it.
I would not classify this as unisex, but very feminine.
Of course, my experience is skewed by the fact that Scentbird sent me this instead of what I ordered.

Layers well
The opening is grapefruit, lily-of-the-Valley, and salt. The dry down is soft and fresh cedar, amber, and white musk, and the salt, citrus and a punch and sweet sage remain throughout. Longevity is moderate, the silage is an intimate salt & citrus. Not bad at all for a clean scent and a rollerball. This is a 5ml rollerball I received as a Sephora sample. Nice as it is, I won't buy a full bottle. Layers well with Chloe edp.

Another muddled disappointment
At this point, I can't say I was expecting anything, but I'm still a bit disappointed by this fragrance. I feel like the theme of the perfume wasn't clear, which probably muddled the overall notes of this perfume. The notes aren't well-balanced and the scent turned out generic, like hand soap or drugstore body wash. Sage sticks out like a sore thumb with its deep green and herbal scent. Paired with grapefruit, it turns out weird. Grapefruit is really subdued: I detected a vague fruity note, but nothing that makes it special or stand out. There's no tanginess, juiciness or tartness, nothing. Florals do appear, but they smell like generic florals used for hand soap. I can't seperate any of the notes, make out any of the sweetness or delicateness that goes with them. Then there's cedar and an underlying tone of salt that just turned me off completely.

There's no way to salvage this one and all I can say is it will never be added to my collection. Another disappointing entry from the discovery set. So sad.

Muddled notes make up a generic scent that has a strong herbal note from the sage, vague fruitiness, some florals and off-putting woodiness.

like a handmade soap purchased in Sedona that’s colored to look like a canyon sunset. lighter citrus + floral, strong cedar + sage. love!
