Gorgeous but Weak
In terms of scent alone, this is one of the best Skylar releases, IMO. I think the notes and blending are very well-crafted.
It opens, on me, with cedar, citrus and sage. I really appreciate the herbal, earthy note the sage brings to the citrus. The sage softens the citrus, tempering the sourness without losing the brightness.
The floral notes play second fiddle to the cedar, and as background players, they are just perfect, the soft, green, LOTV, with the rich magnolia and sweet tiare. Still very unisex, IMO.
The drydown is almost perfection. The ever-present cedar becomes less prominent, as the amber, salt and musk become more intense. I really love the salty amber accord. It really rounds out the scent.
The longevity isn't great, lasting maybe 4 hours, and unfortunately, Pink Canyon does not project on me, nor does it have a sillage trail. My husband didn't notice the scent until he hugged me.
As much as I love this fragrance, the price point and poor performance will prevent me from purchasing.
