Unwanted Realism
Sometimes, realism is not what you want in a fragrance, especially if the fragrance is named "Journeyman". Those images that immediately spring to mind, of a young man breaking his back sweating up a storm in some sort of hard physical labor, well, that's what this smells like, only not at first. At first you receive the wonderful aroma of storax (Scotchguard). That lasts until the blissful b.o shows up, as cumin; eventually the sweat smells not as bad as leather joins the party. However, the leather only diminishes the cumin. It does not kick it out of the party, so yes, you get to smell just like a journeyman for the lifetime of the fragrance. Uhm, yay? Eventually some cedar shows up and the party winds down around hour seven. With all that said, the bottle is a touch-attracting, tactile delight, and looks artsy and Olde Worlde, somehow. Unfortunately, the bottle just can't atone for the b.o. fest that this fragrance becomes on me -- and I tested it three separate times just to make sure. Sigh.
Note: My review is of Journeyman Absolute, which may differ from the regular Journeyman.
