The more light-footed Knize Ten
My first suspicion with this Ted Lapidus debut before testing went loosely towards oriental spice leg with heavy sweetness. At least that's how I would have interpreted the modern bottle.
Wrongly typed, because Ted Lapidus pour Homme turns out to be an extremely leathery fragrance with many fresh spicy side effects, which actually fit perfectly into the theme of the 70s. Only the bottle is visionary, because in the olfactory time machine this kind of single-mindedness is rather assigned to the past and reminded me of Knize Ten after a few minutes.
The main difference to the big model is that TLpH brings the freshness alà thyme and spruce into play intensively at the beginning, almost ethereally and then only so slowly on the leather card, but then with taste and all other ingredients, which quote Knize Ten, including beavergeil, clove and moss. Another ingredient is a rich incense swath, which fits perfectly to the appearance plus soft patchouli and aldehyde.
The whole thing thus appears absolutely masculine and striking, as well as daring but nevertheless charming and cultivated. One could also say that TLpH looks like a Cologne version of Knize Ten or that this fragrance reflects more the adult Junior.
For me it's clearly an angular fabric with slight curves, like a bottle. Fits!
