Interesting Facts

Fragrance lover Mohammed Abu Nashi from Jakarta had been working as an oud supplier for several years before meeting Italian luxury perfumer Andrea Casotti. The two fragrance experts shared many things in common about their industry, like their interpretation of what makes a good fragrance and what it can mean: aesthetics, art, and passion. In addition, the two men also shared their enthusiasm for travel. Therefore, they decided to skillfully merge the Occident with the Orient in 2016. That was the birth of "The House of Oud".

The name has several meanings: it refers to the oud ingredient (the smoked wood of the eaglewood tree), found in many Arabian fragrances. But oud also stands for the unconditional passion ("Our unique devotion") with which the label creates its fragrances.

The aromas of "The House of Oud" bring a lot of oriental flair to Europe. Substances such as cardamom, patchouli, tobacco, musk, and abundant precious woods bring the Orient and Occident together. And the flacons are in no way inferior to these highest standards. Each fragrance is contained in a "lying fragrance egg", which was hand painted with strong layers.

The House of Oud fragrances are sold in selected drugstores (Douglas) and online.
