Mission: Venice in a bottle!
Four days Venice and I had a clearly defined mission: to test two fragrances of "The Merchant of Venice" every day, ideally to take home one of the beautiful Murano glass bottles on the last day at the airport. But, to anticipate: It shouldn't have been: "La Fenice pour femme": really beautiful fragrance, but for me just too much of everything: too sweet, too vanilla, too lush flowery. "Flower Fusion": a little better, but still too sweet, Asian Inspiration: Great fragrance, completely different from the others from the Murano series, but unfortunately for me too similar to Bottega Veneta: "Essence Aromatique pour femme". "Mandarin Carnival": beautiful scent, but a trace of artificial mandarin. "Rosa Moceniga" has a spicy undertone that got on my nerves in the long run.
Yes, that's right, I was VERY demanding, but I just wanted to find a fragrance that would knock me off my socks and be worth living in these sensational bottles.
And then: "On Murano, while the rest of the troop were browsing in the glass shops, I turned off again over one of the small bridges and rummaged in the enchanting little Merchant of Venice shop, which to my great astonishment was actually almost empty. A nice, knowledgeable saleswoman, to whom I told my fragrance story, nodded knowingly, forgave me without batting an eyelid my machine gun enumeration of the things I didn't find so great in the already tested fragrances, looked me calmly in the eyes and said: "I would recommend you to test some fragrances of the museum series". Oh no, the dream of my wonderful glass bottle: burst? Instead: Red, monotonous, plain??????? I creased and went to the other end of the store and what did I find there? Beautiful summery citrus scents that perfectly matched the 28 degrees and bright sunshine outside the door. Actually, I could have closed my eyes and chosen blindly. I liked them all, Lemon Splash, Sicilian Citruses, Delirius Orange, Pink Grapefruit and Mandarin. Super refreshing, partly underlaid with bitter and bitter components, real summer water!
In the end I decided in favour of "Delirius Orange" - and I must confess, also because I liked the name so much and I had a lot of decision difficulties anyway. "Sicilian Citruses," I'll buy more as soon as the bottle of orange in delirium is empty. And I think that this will be the case quite quickly, because as always with beautiful citrus scents, this also disappears quickly - so spraying is obligatory. "Delirius Orange starts with a great tart citrus combination. Slightly bitter - and if grapefruit were also mixed in, I wouldn't be surprised at all. Besides the bitter substances you can also smell orange juice. Beautifully refreshing and sparkling. Underneath there is also a little flower - lavender with stump and style. No sweet or old-fashioned lavender, but green and rather herbaceous. At the very end you can (very discreetly) play along with patchouli and a little wood. On the skin you can smell the scent for about 4-5 hours. A fragrance cloud can be created with Delirius Orange probably came, unless you construct yourself a constantly spraying fragrance automatic. If you like citric-light summer scents, you shouldn't leave the museum series as disdainfully in the corner as I did!
