Patchouli Absolu
This is the fragrance I can truly say makes me feel like you NEED to dress nice with this. This smells so sophisticated that I feel like I couldn't pull it off. It's so opulent and majestic that it's ridiculous!
_
PA has patchouli all the way through it. Starts patchouli , middle is patchouli and so is the end. But it still has three stages, it starts extremely fragrant with bay leafs and rosemary and it is super appealing. Then in the middle it smells a little more woodsy, fresh woodsy, still clean and slightly ambery, then the end is heavy amber, musky warm and the slightest bit sweet, honestly , this is out of this world.
_
Propably the best Patchouli fragrance ever!

After refining my nose with (honestly) way too many samples, bottlings, blind buys and sometimes even trips because of perfumes, I understood for myself that I like perfumes because of the emotional change they make in me.

Strength/Self-awareness: Whiskey/Pine/Leather/Birch Tar
Sexy/Sensual: Amber

And, for those days when I need quiet, feel nervous, but also just want to connect with nature, Patchouli.

Patchouli is for me the most versatile note in perfumery: it can be earthy (jovoy), repulsive (Bulls Blood), herbaceous/natural (Hindu Grass) and just as fresh/sporty/summery: Tom Ford.

For me, a very linear fragrance. In the best sense.

What you smell on the bottle, you will have on your skin for several hours. He smells for me as if you had "sports patchouli" as a work order. For me great on the days when you want to have the earthiness of patchouli with him, but still wants to smell "clean", "fresh", "soapy" and also the poor perfume newcomers around you do not want to overwhelm with avant-garde (for the days I recommend "Bulls Blood" -Igitt, what is that then / open the window)

Out of the Box
I admit it: I had already written a wonderful commentary in which I philosophized about our new attic apartment in a small suburb directly on the edge of the forest and made associations with this wonderful scent.

But somehow this comment did not suit me. It was somehow too banal, too... unimaginative
Sure: Modern new apartment, suburb of a larger city, edge of a forest... Business people and their connection to nature, where you can let off steam in the woods after a hard day's work and go out to feel and ground yourself.
Even if it all fit somehow, it didn't fit somehow.

Because: this fragrance is more than that.

If I had to describe the fragrance with just one word, I would say "OTHERS".

Patchouli Absolu may smell dark, wooden, wicked, sexy and earthy - but it smells different to me above all else. Outside the Box.

Yes, after a long day at work I like to go for a walk or jog in the woods around here. Most of the time I still wear the chic trousers, shirt and sometimes the jacket, depending on the weather. And yes, I love walking there, feeling the ground with every step, breathing in the forest air, smelling the different woods. But, as I said before, all this is still too banal.

So let me - to dedicate a worthy comment to the fragrance - think outside the box.

UPON/HEADNOTE - Get out of the apartment.

On a cool autumn evening, it is already late, my partner and I decide to leave the house once more to go for a walk in the woods.
The apartment is warm, bright, cozy and comfortable. But not outside. So we pack up well, gloves, scarf and cap are also included. And so it goes out the door.

The first thing that hits me is the cool forest air. It's uncomfortable. Pitch-black night, no moon in the sky - and even if there was one, there would be too much fog anyway. We walk into the forest, leaving most of the fog behind us, but some swaths of mist are also moving around the trees.
At the beginning it gets woody. But nothing sweet. No, deep woody, creaky old trees. The leaves still hanging on the branches, rustling with the wind. The moss along the way smells strong and intense. The fallen leaves add their aromas. And again a cold wind blows around my nose.

HERZNOTE - Deeper into the forest.

The deeper we walk into the dark forest, the more the smell of the dark woods unfolds. The air is dry as dust, the ground almost resembles sand. I feel the dust I stir up when I walk on this ground. The steps are loud, firm and determined. Again and again bigger and smaller roots protrude into the path. They smell of dark resins. Wicked.
The forest is not a fir forest, but a noble mixed forest, whose woods now develop their full aromas in autumn, while the uncomfortably cold wind carries and mixes them throughout the woods.
My partner is holding my hand a little tighter than usual. And squeezes a little harder than we hear an owl calling.
We pass freshly felled wood. They weren't businessmen, no. They were strong guys who, in the sweat of their brow and with the most laborious effort, had felled and cut up the trees. I feel as if I can even detect slight nuances of their scent. But this is quickly drowned out by the tempting inherent smell of these noble woods and of course by the resin, which is thick and viscous. The shavings still lie on the dry ground.

BASIC NOTE - On the way home.

We have surely been on the road for what feels like an eternity, it is time to slowly leave the forest and head for home.
The smell of the different woods still accompanies us all the way home, as well as the dusty ground that still hangs everywhere on our new leather boots.
When we enter our bright apartment again, it smells cosy and homely. It gets warm and this warmth starts to warm up our frozen bodies again. I snuggle up on the leather sofa, a warm cloth blanket to go with it. My partner beside me. In the morning she had put on some kind of perfume, now I can still smell the clay canote on her skin very, very slightly. Tired from the walk and the cold, we fall asleep cuddled together on the sofa.

In the morning I can still smell the forest.

Fragrance 9.5/10 - The scent of dark, gloomy forest with dust-dry paths and the noble resins of freshly felled trees is not sweet, but pure power work. Very wicked and very sexy!

Shelf life 10/10 - This fragrance lasts for what feels like an eternity. Applied in the morning, it is still strongly present and clearly perceptible even late in the evening. Even the next day before showering it is still there, but then only very close to the skin.

Sillage 10/10 - A real Sillage miracle. It radiates massively and is also immediately noticed by others. Only conditionally something for the office, rather for going out or special occasions, where you should and want to attract attention.

Flacon 9/10 - Private Line flat.

CONCLUSION: For me a masterpiece of the most exclusive perfume art. You get something unique and special here. Something that certainly not everyone has and which you will definitely be asked about. The fragrance convinces me by its noble and rare scents paired with an incredible durability and sillage

Patchouly.
Having grown up in the eighties, Patchouly has accompanied me all my life. The small bottles from the India shop with the dark brown oil were allowed
never go out with me. I still love it when clothes still radiate this earthy scent for days after application. My sensation with it is strength self-confidence power to be grounded, feel sexy sensual with it and I may be imperfect.
Countless perfumes with patchouli have been purchased and tested over the years, but I still prefer the pure essential oil. It belongs to me like my name.
When I first became interested in Mr. Ford's fragrances, I met this darling. This Patchouli is absolutely unsweet, smoky, angular and deep, like
i like it.
PA is suitable for everyday use, I wear it as I please. On days when Noir pour Femme from Ford is not "Noir" enough for me, I put the two together.
Patchouli absolu comes next to my love for pure patchouli. I clearly take incense was, although not specified.
This is how the smoke mantle worn in the church on certain occasions could smell.
Something intangible, sublime and transient, a spell, the flapping of a falcon's wings that swings up into the evening sky.
He takes me with him and I'm free.
The Innumerable Heart.

Sexy!
I already know from this review that I'm going to get terribly bogged down, but I'm still trying not to let it get soporific...

Background:
Patchouli Absolu has been my absolute favourite and signature fragrance for more than 3 years now.
I like Patchouli very much, but I don't feel all (my) Patchouli fragrances as wearable or more suitable for everyday use. I think Psychedelique (Jovoy) is great, but I never wear it. The same applies to Patchouli Noir (IL PROFVMO).
Patchouli can smell wonderful. Patchouli can also smell unpleasant. In the fragrance oil and 90's gothic direction it must not go e.g. in any case. Also not overfed by (citrus-) chords, so that only a hint of the patchouli remains.
After years of searching for a fragrance that is patchouli heavy enough for me but doesn't smell musty or gothic, I got stuck with Real Patchouli for a few years 10 years ago.

Test/Purchase :
When I then tested Patchouli Absolu in Vienna at 37 degrees and without great expectations, I was totally blown away by the unexpected realization that this fragrance was so close to what I had imagined for years as it could hardly be closer.
And after felt 2 minutes I marched with the 100ml in the bag from the perfumery. I mention the temperature, because in my opinion patchouli and heat often don't go well together and most patchouli fragrances aren't for midsummer now. And also because I do not make spontaneous purchases in this price category now also necessarily constantly.

Transition:
No matter in which season and no matter if work or leisure and in which outfit, even more than 3 years later this fragrance still arouses my unrestricted enthusiasm and I have meanwhile the third bottle in use. At least my subjective evaluation might already be fair with it...

The scent:
The Patchouli comes out here dry-spicy and yet very full and powerful. Not a gruffy patchouli. Not even a more heppy, playful one. Patchouli Absolu is a serious fragrance. Powerful and self-confident. Rather cool than warm, although it actually produces warm tones in autumn/winter (which I find very fascinating).
The Patchouliton, reminiscent of chocolate or cocoa in certain moments, is here rather dark chocolate than gourmand praline. It is accompanied by various wood notes and a dark green dampness that evokes the association of forest and moss plants. In itself, Patchouli Absolu is an earthy, almost boggy and dark green fragrance. In the background leather mixed with bitter-sweet tonka bean additionally provide an almost animal undertone. The result is a raw and yet consistently noble fragrance that manages to grit Patchouli from the associations gruuftig or hippie-like split, without too good or to be falsified.

Conclusion:
Go at any time of the day. Goes at any time of year. Go to the suit and go to the jeans with Courtney Love T-shirt.
A very masculine and raw fragrance. And incredibly sexy.

A dry, cold and deeply earthy scent. This is quite linear but there are interesting woody- spicy facets that reveal themselves over time.
