For the pretty and bougie girls looking for a soft rose.
I just received a decant of this fragrance last year and my initial thoughts are that it beautiful, but it reminds me a few other fragrances. Out of the TF rose trio, I am most intrigued to smell Rose de Chine, which I’ll be leaving a review for as soon as I get it.
Rose D’Amalfi reminds me of three different frags, the first and most prominent being Maison Lancôme’s Parfait de Roses. It’s got the same rose + vanilla + powdery vibe that Parfait has and tbh if I smelled this on someone outside, I would have sworn they were wearing PdR. I don’t get the comments that say they don’t smell alike because they very much do. Although, PdR has a noticeable boozy-ness to it that this doesn’t. Also, this to me smells nothing like any of the Delina’s, which many have compared Rose D’Amalfi to. None of them are as powdery as this perfume is. The rose is also more sharp in all the Delina’s and here, it’s been sugar-coated and mixed in with a bunch of almond-y heliotrope. TF was smart to create a scent that emulates the legendary PdR and I think they did it in a beautiful way.
The second fragrance I’m reminded of when I smell this is MFK Oud Satin Mood, which is another powdery rose-vanilla scent. Both fragrances are extremely well blended and use the highest quality ingredients, and I think that’s why they remind me so much of each other. Even though OSM has that big, fat oud note, the vibes are similar.
The third fragrance I’m reminded of when I smell Rd’A is MFK A La Rose. The combo of the rose and bergamot is giving the similar bright citrusy punch + rose. The only difference is A La Rose is more citrusy + woody, while Rd’A is sweet, fluffy, and powdery.
This fragrance has a good projection, and while I can’t speak to longevity just yet, you can tell it’s a good quality fragrance that’ll linger on your skin for a long time (and it better for the damn price). It’s appropriate to wear in any season, but will be best in spring. I’m unsure of if I’ll add it to my collection, but I’m happy to have smelled it and have this decant of it. Very beautiful and feminine, and can appeal to those who don’t like rose scents.
