Black is back
The bottle lies huge and coarse in the hand, the thematically well chosen imitation hard plastic leather of the outer shell I would have wished for with at least a thin layer of imitation leather, but would probably have been too elaborate with the realization.
Nevertheless, I think the bottle is great, because it radiates what is inside, namely a scent from a (unfortunately) long gone time.
The start with aldehydes, spices and herbs, above all thyme and juniper, which quickly connect with the actors of the heart note, radiate such a sublimity that it is rather unbearable for younger noses nowadays. For sure there are younger people who might like it, but I see the scent rather at Ü30, or even at the age where men get their first grey hair ;-)
In any case, this fragrance is more suitable for the seasoned man, an outdoor worker with a three-day beard who throws himself into his best, mostly single suit for an occasion than for a casually dressed, shaved, lanky office person.
After the long middle part of the fragrance follows gradually the base with a good portion of oldschool leather, lots of patchouli and especially REAL Evernia Furfuracea extract, pronounced Baummoos.
What used to be a popular ingredient was classified by IFRA as allergenic and therefore banned. Apparently, some fragrances contain this extract again, but without the oh so dangerous Atranol.
After I got hold of a bottle and gave it back (shame on my head) I realized as so often that no matter how long I search and work my way through vintage fragrances, nothing comparable comes. So I decided to get a new one, which will not leave my collection anymore, because more 80s just won't work!
