The Jackal, who pretended to be a greyhound
Scent diary with Trussardi Donna Levriero Collection EDP
Day 1 (Maundy Thursday): My swap parcel arrives. Yippee! Wow - what an exceptionally beautiful, heavy bottle, impressive even without the head of...well, what is it? It reminds me of the Egyptian jackal. Anubis. Anubis with his ears laid back. Wasn't he the one who was led to the realm of the dead? I spray - Holy Anubis! That's what I call white-blooded! Fierce! Reminds me of White Song with lots of powder. Insanely intense! Do I really like it?
Day 2 (Good Friday): Yesterday I had sprayed something else out of the exchange package, so it could be that there was something wrong in my perception. So, first of all I brought the White Song here. Smelled the spray head. Then smelled the sprayer by Donna Levreiro. Hmm. Why did I think they were similar yesterday? The trussardi is much sweeter and also a little fruity. The similarity is probably mainly in the intensity. I spray the Trussardi again: Oh, yes, it is relatively sweet. But I still don't understand why others smell citrus or call it light. With me it is still a powder hammer with white flowers. But there could also be lily, so lily powder. Maybe there's a parallel with White Song
Day 3 (Easter Saturday): Today I really do suspect a little bit of citrus. But also only because I am looking for it. It is already gone after five minutes at the latest.
Yesterday I was able to enjoy Donna Levriero for many hours and although I would not have thought it at first due to the enormous white flowering intensity, I felt very comfortable, pleasantly calm. I have experienced this before with fragrances where osmanthus was performed, even if I had not necessarily perceived this note in the foreground. In my case Donna Levriero still smells of jasmine and powdered lily, still sweetly underlaid and with a hint of vanilla, which I might have classified as heliotrope because of the powder and without knowing the pyramid. The white flowers are very well interwoven.
I ask my husband: What do you think of him? And while I think I should air the room right away, with the intensity, he presses his nose on the spray spot and says that it's very faint, whether that's the right spot. Horrified, my eyes fall out of my head. I force him to sniff again. He corrects himself and says: Weak and soapy. OKAY... Obviously there is something in there for which there is anosmia. Probably the jasmine powder lily. That would also explain some statements/comments here.
It has one advantage: I am beginning to like the fragrance more and more and can get drunk without attracting negative attention - at least at home I'll put the scent in the collection.
Day 4 (Easter Sunday): First thing this morning is to turn on the coffee machine and then to the Donna Levriero bottle. And spray... What a beautiful, fresh lemon, without being sour and what happy, delicate, restrained flowers! Please stay, please stay a bit longer today But the lemons, before I could smell if they were associated with Yuzu, were already disappearing. The delicate blossoms disappear behind jasmine lily powder with something sweetly floral and beguiling. As beautiful as this is, why can't the top note stay a little longer?
I don't find the fragrance so hammeringly intense and room filling anymore. Everything indicates that I am in the process of adapting to the powder white bloomers. Also the reaction of my cat: after I scented myself with Donna Levriero, he doesn't want to be stroked by me anymore. And when I touched him briefly, he cleaned himself hectically.
Today it is clear: Donna stays.
It is also clear: My heart still weighs almost as much as the impressively heavy glass flacon. That's why I don't want Anubis to escort me to the afterlife just yet. For that, my heart would have to become light as a feather, after all I want to be given eternal life as a gift.
So I like to stay in this world also this Easter. I also have 30 ml of the beautiful Trussardi Donna to consume and some other fine fragrances from my collection Besides, it is possible that my jackal is in reality only a greyhound.
Happy Easter 2020!
