Summer Fling in White T-Shirt
Delicate and clear, light blue and white - and the free-spirited feeling of a summer's day into which one simply lives. Mid-days when the streets seem to be deserted, when time seems to stand still. A breeze on the skin that feels like a caress.

Nothing But Sea And Sky starts fresh and light, and then is also immediately present with the bergamot and sandalwood. Here we have to do with a delicate projection, the perfume is not strong overall.

In the first impression, even as the alcohol fades, I associate Marseille soap, bed linen hanging outside, fluttering in the wind. I think of the quiet moment of freshening up in a darkened hotel room, at the sink, the rattling cold water and bar of soap from a traditional manufacturer, the intimacy of seeing the hair in a loved one's armpit. I smell tomato stems, a smell/taste that reminds me of delicious tasting, familiar kisses.

The citrusy notes naturally fade quite quickly. So onward in free association: Stepping out of a cool, dark hallway into the glistening brightness after a siesta, the hair on my arms shimmering and made bright by the sun, the scent of soap or cream accompanying me into the afternoon, I can almost smell the skid marks of rubber tires on hot asphalt.

There we have unmistakably the scent of skin after a day at the beach, there is the natural-outdoor sandalwood, just as it should be. No substitute sandalwood or what so everything is declared as sandalwood, but the cool creamy sandalwood as in Tam Dao. Here, however, it fits perfectly into the summery impression and does not make the fragrance darker.

This is not a particularly complex fragrance, even in development. Like an open palm and relaxed eye contact, the scent is immediately appealing to me. Everything is simple and clear, there is no brooding.

25 ml in slim atomizer laugh at me just so, with white teeth from the tanned face. I think that isse, the summer love 2021!

Such a big ball of fire boy! ..... Oh what gentle seduction!
Greetings people of noses! This is my first review of a fragrance on this platform. Should this be celebrated? I feel like it but whatever. Let's get to the main course.

First, you should probably know that this was a blind purchase on my part.
The name is so inspiring...sigh.
My expectations were also clearly framed based on the scent pyramid with dryness, spiciness and pungency. In the end, he surprised me anyway.
So sprayed on, waited for the drydown and...RUMMS.
Silence.
Wow.
An incredible blast of sandalwood hit my sensitive and moody olfactory organ completely unprepared. At the beginning, he fires straight from all pipes: Bergamot on the surface, a muscular body of sandalwood and spicy peaks of musk just about overwhelmed.
Only after some time, the sandalwood loses some energy and the various notes go into a creamy flowing balance, which is incredibly fun, while the fragrance always remains linear during its circa 7 hours of life.
Should you get this fragrance?
As a fragrance freak, I scream "yes!"
Why?
Its unusualness and rarely experienced creaminess make it exciting and desirable to battle-hardened noses. However, one should endure, even like, sandalwood.
Would I recommend it to a fragrance novice?
Clear no.
Too unusual and overwhelming. This is not a perfume, which can be worn carefree.

So how was I? Did you enjoy it? I did. *Pat on the back*

Acute female hysteria
It's the late 50s. I'm sitting on the veranda, wrapped in a woolen blanket. A small house on a beach, with a choppy, turbulent sea right in front of me. The sky is cloudy and gray, seagulls make their rounds above me.

Why am I there? A doctor diagnosed me with hysteria due to my stubborn, feminine disposition and suggested that I should be sent to the sea, as this could probably have a positive effect on the furor caused by fanatical feminist ideas that is now common among women.
My family agreed, luckily we had a lonely cottage by the sea and it was time for me to normalize myself so that I could perhaps find a sensible man.
What the doctor couldn't know, of course, was that I had my required reading of Simone de Beauvoir's "The Opposite Sex" with me, which would only encourage me further in my renitence.

To clear my mind a little, I decide to go for a walk. I dig my toes into the cold sand, let the spray wash over my legs and feel the sun's rays breaking through the thick cloud cover tickle my salty skin.
A lonely, dry piece of driftwood lies on the white sand. I briefly consider throwing it back into the sea, but I pause and decide to take it back to my hut. I watch the seagulls gliding weightlessly through the air and wish I could fly with them to see the rough sea from above. Funnily enough, I don't mind my solitude by the sea one bit.

Fast forward 70 years. In the meantime, no doctor can attest to female hysteria, feminist ideas are no longer fanaticism but have reached a broad population and my family doesn't own a lonely house by the sea either. But I'm still stubborn and unmarried.

When I spray on "Une Nuit à Montauk - Nothing but Sea and Sky | Une Nuit Nomade", I still feel this melancholy, this longing for the sea and the vague feeling of being far away from home. This world-weariness that the fragrance conveys for me is beautiful and deeply touching.

For me, absolutely no tropical fragrance, vacation scent or coconut feeling, instead salty, rough sea, observed from the cozy embrace of a woolen blanket. Somehow comforting, this gentle breeze of dry wood and fresh sea air. It is scratchy and salty at first and then becomes creamier and very close to the skin as it progresses. Nevertheless, it retains its own scent, which can be clearly distinguished from the scent of the skin.

Not a sillage monster, not a night-out fragrance, but something quite indescribable that everyone must give meaning to for themselves.

Fall asleep with clarity, wake up in security
Nothing but Sea and Sky is my home fragrance. With him I go to sleep, although I never wanted to wear a fragrance at night, because I long late at night only for peace and clarity. But this fragrance gives me exactly that.

It starts off fresh and a bit scratchy woody - here I understand the sea association, though it's rather less the sea itself and more a piece of sun faded wood on a barren beach. This sandalwoody prelude also reminds me of fresh laundry dried in the garden and gives me the feeling of purity, but without that synthetic, the fresh laundry scents otherwise often have in itself.

After a while, the scent transforms and becomes soft and creamy, the sandalwood becomes coconutty and slightly sweet, but still remains lighthearted and transparent. Distant kinship I recognize to This Is Her!, only much more natural, less sweet and dense. But just as clean, creamy, soft, lulling.

And so I go to sleep with the neutralizing and soothing freshness of the top notes, and wake up in the morning accompanied by the cozy security of the base.

Nothing but Sea and Sky is a rather quiet fragrance, which nevertheless unfolds its magic through the sillage. You can and should use it generously, under 6-8 sprays I never stay. He surrounds me like an aura and envelops me gently like a soft linen dress (or a linen sheet, to stay with my sleep narrative).

And now - good night and sleep well.

Between Rebekka Harkness and Max Frisch
Whenever I don't like a fragrance because of its name, I should be skeptical. In my last year at university I had an exam and that's when I had "The image of women according to Max Frisch as a topic" to be honest, I got my other topics down even better - but ok, it was enough to graduate. I also had to read Montauk here and found it semi. At some point during Corona, I listened to Folklore by Taylor Swift and fell in love with the album, then with Taylor and finally with the story of the last American dynasty.

The story of the night in Montauk is quickly told here, as the fragrance is wonderfully linear, cuddly and somehow clear. What hides behind it is probably one of the most beautiful musk-sandalwood combinations: Clear, linear and not playful. The bergamot in the top opens beautifully and blends with the musk and sandalwood. Which it is: it is very present without being intrusive. Its sillage is rather close to the body, it lasts well for a fragrance of this type, but it is not an extremely long-lasting and penetrating fragrance and is very classic in its simplicity.

It's that homage to the barren land of the East Coast, it's that scent I have for myself when I'm being my inner singer-songwriter girl again and it's the scent that cuddles you in, accompanies you and carries you with three notes that are so much more. The 10 ml flacon was the first to move in with me and when it's empty, a larger size will follow, because it's a really nice evergreen.
