What, no comment? #First! SPOILER: NO STINKY FLOWER!
... ...but that's it for first.
Because the first musky scent that smells like that, it's not really... Well, I have already smelled some, mostly floral scents with musk, and it reminds me of them immediately
For example, Narciso Rodriguez for Him EdP, soft musk with flowers (iris), which smells kind of "white".
I don't understand how people can't perceive the musk here (see statements), because it really jumps at me.
I'll give you a hint: Think of a stinky flower! (Botanical name: Blumus stinkitus maximus) :D
If a fragrance smells like it, but the flowers it contains are not actually smelly flowers, then musk is probably involved. I quote the most trustworthy of all sources, Google:
"What smells like musk? As a component of perfumes, the scent of musk is said to combine an "animal" and a "radiant sweet" fragrance. The "animal element" conveys warmth and thus feelings of security as well as sexual stimulation."
There you go. So animal, physical, but at the same time musky scents often smell very clean... paradoxical, or?
I think, most of the time it doesn't seem that way because the musk cleans the fragrances, but a fragrance with musk is cleaned by white flowers!
These fragrances often contain predicates such as "White, Clean, Fresh, Cotton, or similar, to indicate that we are not dealing with buffalo smell, or "3 days not washed", but the aspect of musk that is fluffy, soft and sweet
In this case, I believe the magic word is "essence"... So only the core, the soul of the musk is depicted, its body and texture, but not the overflowing, stinking, animalistic aspects
By the way, the silhouette, i.e. the reverse of this scent, could be Gaultier's "Fleur du Mâle":
It is white, super-flowery, and really stinky,- without musk (obviously) contained!
So somehow the opposite of this scent (white flowers with musk but does not stink, vs. white flowers without musk but still stinks) :D
Well, I hope you can make sense of my explanation and explanation of musk. To round it all off, my conclusion:
I think Musc Essence is a beautifully made, clean, white musk scent that actually deserves a white bottle.
The black mistakenly conveys that this is a complex, more elaborate evening scent like "Uomo" or "Uomo Intense" with a lot of character, but as the name "Essence" suggests, this is more of a one-dimensional, very linear scent that really just reproduces this white, fluffy musky-floral texture.
So a white, somewhat simpler bottle would have hit it sooner.
From my point of view, as Schücha says below, it's really more of a layering thing. Because giving a perfume a base or body that is too volatile or ethereal itself could really work well with it
Of course you can also wear it like this, and I think that it creates an attractive silage, but rather so that you think the other person just smells sexy,- and not that you would think the wearer has a good smell...
Hmmm... there will have to be some tests. ;)
In this sense, I hope you find my contribution as enlightening as I find this white musk!
Thank you very much! :)
